Book Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program ECAMP

Download or read book Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program ECAMP written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The number of environmental laws and regulations have continued to grow in the United States and worldwide, making compliance with these regulations increasingly difficult. Environmental assessments became a way to determine compliance with current environmental regulations. The U.S. Air Force has adopted an environmental compliance program that identifies compliance problems before they are cited as violations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Beginning in 1984, the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories (USACERL), in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force, began research on the Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program (ECAMP). The concept was to combine Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), Air Force Regulations (AFRs), Air Force Instructions (AFIs), and Department of Defense (DOD) Directives, along with good management practices and risk- management issues, into a series of checklists that show legal requirements and which specific items or operations to review. Each assessment protocol lists a point of contact to help assessors review the checklists as effectively as possible. Since this initial printing, the ECAMP manual has been updated and revised annually. The manual is continually updated to address new environmental compliance laws and regulations.

Book Environmental Compliance Audit Assessment Program Manual

Download or read book Environmental Compliance Audit Assessment Program Manual written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document describes the elements, schedule, roles, and responsibilities of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) Environmental Compliance Audit & Assessment Program (ECAAP). The ECAAP has been developed to meet the requirements of DOE Order 450.1A,1 and Executive Order 13423.2 These referenced Orders stipulate that government agencies must develop environmental compliance audit programs to monitor and improve compliance with environmental regulations. As stated specifically in the DOE Order, as a part of a DOE facility's Environmental Management System (EMS), 'An environmental compliance audit and review program that identifies compliance deficiencies and root causes of non-compliance' shall be developed and implemented. The ECAAP has also been developed to satisfy LBNL's institutional technical assurance assessment requirements promulgated in the Environment, Safety and Health (ES & amp;H) Self-Assessment Program (LBNL/PUB-5344) and described by the ES & H Technical Assurance Program (TAP) Manual (LBNL/PUB-913E). The ES & H TAP Manual provides the framework for systematic reviews of ES & H programs with the intent to provide assurance that these programs comply with their guiding regulations, are effective, and are properly implemented. As required by the DOE and Executive Orders and by LBNL's TAP, the goal of the ECAAP is to identify environmental regulatory compliance deficiencies and to determine their respective causes. The ECAAP then provides a means of correcting any deficiencies identified, and leads to continually improving environmental compliance performance.

Download or read book Environmental Compliance Assessment Protocol Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ECAP CDC West Virginia Supplement written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In response to the growing number of environmental laws and regulations worldwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has adopted an environmental compliance program that identifies compliance problems before they are cited as violations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). In 1992, the CDC developed a program to maintain compliance with all Federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The goal is to protect human health/safety and the environment. The CDC, headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, with facilities in several other states, developed and implemented a specific environmental assessment and management program tailored to the type and size of their facilities and operations. The resulting system combines Federal environmental regulations, along with good management practices and risk management information, into a series of checklists that show legal requirements and which specific items or operations to review. The Environmental Compliance Assessment Protocol Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ECAP-CDC) incorporates existing checklists from USEPA and private industry. The West Virginia Supplement was developed to be used in conjunction with the ECAP-CDC manual, using existing West Virginia environmental legislation and regulations as well as suggested management practices. West Virginia, Environmental Compliance Laws and Regulation, Environmental Compliance Checklists, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Environmental Compliance Assessment Protocol (ECAP).

Book The Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program ECAMP Supplement for The Environmental Assessment and Management TEAM Guide Revision

Download or read book The Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program ECAMP Supplement for The Environmental Assessment and Management TEAM Guide Revision written by and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The number of environmental laws and regulations have continued to grow in the United States, making compliance with these regulations increasingly difficult. Environmental assessments became a way to determine operational consistency and compliance with current environmental regulations. Beginning in 1984, the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories (USACERL), in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force, began the research that led to the publication of the Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program (ECAMP). In Fiscal Year 1994, the U.S. Air Force became a participant in the efforts to create a single compliance assessment manual for use by all members of the DOD. The resultant manual is The Environmental Assessment and Management (TEAM) Guide. To examine Air Force Instructions (AFIs), Air Force Manuals (AFMs), and Air Force Policies (AFPs), the ECAMP supplement was developed to use in conjunction with the TEAM Guide. This guide supersedes USACERL Special Report 96/17 of January 1996.
