Book English Conversational Topics Pre Intermediate Level

Download or read book English Conversational Topics Pre Intermediate Level written by Alexander Pavlenko and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-06-05 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of stories on fifty topics will help students of English go through the most vulnerable period of learning - pre-intermediate level. At this stage students do not see their progress clearly enough and often feel increasingly anxious and frustrated. All the fifty stories are accounts of Julia's everyday life. Being a real person Julia tells her stories in a very natural way revealing her own style and manner, repeating the same grammatical structures and word combinations. As a result, students easily remember the stories, speaking more and more fluently. Fluency practice drills that accompany each topic accelerate the transition from pre-intermediate into intermediate level. The series is based on the Speech Plasma Method. The Speech Plasma Method uses special Speech Fluency Drills to generate a super active area, "speech plasma" thus producing all the necessary conditions for spontaneous, automatic speech. Once created in your mind, speech plasma acts as a stimulator for further language learning. The bigger and stronger your speech plasma grows, the more fluently you speak, the easier it is to absorb new words and grammar rules, the faster you read, and the better you understand oral texts. Audiobook version of the volume is available on Audible.

Book Intermediate English Discussion Topics

Download or read book Intermediate English Discussion Topics written by Nigel Mark Openshaw and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2017-06-21 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The lessons that follow can be adapted to run from 30 to 90 minutes. They often start with about 5-10 minutes of free talking. This can cover how the students are, what they have been doing or plan to do, as well as contributions from the teacher. The structure of the lessons is modular, with clear and obvious steps to take. Everything starts with the teacher's preparation work. Depending on the students' ability, topics might need a quick worksheet or short classroom activity at the start of the lesson, and you will need to set aside time to devise this. The purpose of each lesson is for students to gain confidence and increase their vocabulary by talking about different topics. If they are unsure about what to do, this might mean introductory work is needed first.I have taught classes with anything up to twenty students using these materials. The lessons are easy to adapt depending on your classroom size and level. For example, with a large class you can encourage smaller groups to discuss topics together and then ask students to share their ideas with the whole class.Be aware of students' sensitivities. Some students may be a little nervous about expressing their opinions and emotions in front of the class. However, over time, they will come to realize that everyone else feels the same and their confidence will improve.

Book Conversational English for a Global Society Intermediate Level

Download or read book Conversational English for a Global Society Intermediate Level written by Thomas Speirs and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2023-06-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on English conversation. It is designed for low intermediate to more advanced students, and the lessons become more challenging from Unit 1 to Unit 8. It is also designed to develop the students’ conversational skills, build their vocabulary and reinforce their grammar. It works best in a traditional (or not so traditional classroom) with a skilled ESL teacher and enthusiastic students willing to take on a slightly different approach to learning the English language. Each lesson begins with new vocabulary. It then proceeds to offer a short story or situation. Then it is followed by a dialog. Afterwards, there are comprehension questions, language exercises and ideas for role-plays. Once the student is familiar with the new language, role-plays offer excellent chances to practice and use the language in real situations. The situations follow strict rules of English grammar and syntax; however, the dialogs sometimes stray from the rules and focus more on the way native English-speaking people converse in natural situations. This includes informal vocabulary, blending words like in the case of “gunna” for “going to” and various idiomatic and slang expressions. There are two appendices at the end of the text. Appendix 1 offers answers to the comprehension questions. Appendix 2 covers several grammar points such as verb tenses and voices.

Book The Complete English Master

Download or read book The Complete English Master written by Jenny Smith and published by Isaac Perrotta Hays. This book was released on 2018-02-20 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: HOW TO MASTER ENGLISH This book is all 3 volumes of the very popular 'Master English in 12 Topics' series. Once you master the vocabulary in this book you will have a very good foundation for speaking fluently about 36 everyday topics. This book is the ultimate stepping stone from 'intermediate' to 'advanced' English. Lots of intermediate English speakers tend to get trapped using the same vocabulary over and over again. They often only speak about subjects they know the words for and avoid anything outside of their 'comfort zone'. The problem with this is that even though they sound ok, they never really get any better. If you really want to improve, you need to be able to speak about a wide range of topics. For this, you will need to learn the special vocabulary connected to these topics. What are the benefits of using this book? You will learn over 600 useful words and phrases. You will be able to speak about 36 new topics with confidence. This will greatly improve your English conversational ability. All new words and phrases are introduced in fun and interesting articles and stories. So you will learn naturally. Everything is explained in easy to understand English, so you can get used to 'thinking in English' There are 100's of example sentences to help you understand how these words and phrases are used in everyday language. For each topic I have listed useful television shows and YouTube channels to help you practice your new vocabulary. Remember these are all topics that native speakers often talk about. They also tend to use specialised language so it's important that you know it too. If you are in the intermediate level and are looking to really improve then this a great place to start.
