Ante todo debe comunicarse la emergencia al cuerpo de bomberos, y a continuacion intentar, si no sofocar el fuego, al menos controlerlo y evitar que se propague. Para ello, todos los hogares, todas las empresas, todas las edificaciones deben cotar con sus proprios medios de extincion y planes de evacuacion. (AU).
