Book Optimization of Integer Fractional Order Chaotic Systems by Metaheuristics and their Electronic Realization

Download or read book Optimization of Integer Fractional Order Chaotic Systems by Metaheuristics and their Electronic Realization written by Esteban Tlelo-Cuautle and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-05-09 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mathematicians have devised different chaotic systems that are modeled by integer or fractional-order differential equations, and whose mathematical models can generate chaos or hyperchaos. The numerical methods to simulate those integer and fractional-order chaotic systems are quite different and their exactness is responsible in the evaluation of characteristics like Lyapunov exponents, Kaplan-Yorke dimension, and entropy. One challenge is estimating the step-size to run a numerical method. It can be done analyzing the eigenvalues of self-excited attractors, while for hidden attractors it is difficult to evaluate the equilibrium points that are required to formulate the Jacobian matrices. Time simulation of fractional-order chaotic oscillators also requires estimating a memory length to achieve exact results, and it is associated to memories in hardware design. In this manner, simulating chaotic/hyperchaotic oscillators of integer/fractional-order and with self-excited/hidden attractors is quite important to evaluate their Lyapunov exponents, Kaplan-Yorke dimension and entropy. Further, to improve the dynamics of the oscillators, their main characteristics can be optimized applying metaheuristics, which basically consists of varying the values of the coefficients of a mathematical model. The optimized models can then be implemented using commercially available amplifiers, field-programmable analog arrays (FPAA), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA), microcontrollers, graphic processing units, and even using nanometer technology of integrated circuits. The book describes the application of different numerical methods to simulate integer/fractional-order chaotic systems. These methods are used within optimization loops to maximize positive Lyapunov exponents, Kaplan-Yorke dimension, and entropy. Single and multi-objective optimization approaches applying metaheuristics are described, as well as their tuning techniques to generate feasible solutions that are suitable for electronic implementation. The book details several applications of chaotic oscillators such as in random bit/number generators, cryptography, secure communications, robotics, and Internet of Things.

Book Image Encryption

Download or read book Image Encryption written by Fathi E. Abd El-Samie and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2013-12-14 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presenting encryption algorithms with diverse characteristics, Image Encryption: A Communication Perspective examines image encryption algorithms for the purpose of secure wireless communication. It considers two directions for image encryption: permutation-based approaches and substitution-based approaches. Covering the spectrum of image encryption principles and techniques, the book compares image encryption with permutation- and diffusion-based approaches. It explores number theory-based encryption algorithms such as the Data Encryption Standard, the Advanced Encryption Standard, and the RC6 algorithms. It not only details the strength of various encryption algorithms, but also describes their ability to work within the limitations of wireless communication systems. Since some ciphers were not designed for image encryption, the book explains how to modify these ciphers to work for image encryption. It also provides instruction on how to search for other approaches suitable for this task. To make this work comprehensive, the authors explore communication concepts concentrating on the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system and present a simplified model for the OFDM communication system with its different implementations. Complete with simulation experiments and MATLAB® codes for most of the simulation experiments, this book will help you gain the understanding required to select the encryption method that best fulfills your application requirements.

Book Hopf Bifurcation Analysis

Download or read book Hopf Bifurcation Analysis written by Jorge L. Moiola and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the frequency domain approach, for both regular and degenerate Hopf bifurcation analyses. Besides showing that the time and frequency domain approaches are in fact equivalent, the fact that many significant results and computational formulas obtained in the studies of regular and degenerate Hopf bifurcations from the time domain approach can be translated and reformulated into the corresponding frequency domain setting, and be reconfirmed and rediscovered by using the frequency domain methods, is also explained. The description of how the frequency domain approach can be used to obtain several types of standard bifurcation conditions for general nonlinear dynamical systems is given as well as is demonstrated a very rich pictorial gallery of local bifurcation diagrams for nonlinear systems under simultaneous variations of several system parameters. In conjunction with this graphical analysis of local bifurcation diagrams, the defining and nondegeneracy conditions for several degenerate Hopf bifurcations is presented. With a great deal of algebraic computation, some higher-order harmonic balance approximation formulas are derived, for analyzing the dynamical behavior in small neighborhoods of certain types of degenerate Hopf bifurcations that involve multiple limit cycles and multiple limit points of periodic solutions. In addition, applications in chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering as well as in biology are discussed. This book is designed and written in a style of research monographs rather than classroom textbooks, so that the most recent contributions to the field can be included with references.

Book Elegant Chaos Algebraically Simple Chaotic Flows

Download or read book Elegant Chaos Algebraically Simple Chaotic Flows written by Julien Clinton Sprott and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2010-03-22 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This heavily illustrated book collects in one source most of the mathematically simple systems of differential equations whose solutions are chaotic. It includes the historically important systems of van der Pol, Duffing, Ueda, Lorenz, Rössler, and many others, but it goes on to show that there are many other systems that are simpler and more elegant. Many of these systems have been only recently discovered and are not widely known. Most cases include plots of the attractor and calculations of the spectra of Lyapunov exponents. Some important cases include graphs showing the route to chaos. The book includes many cases not previously published as well as examples of simple electronic circuits that exhibit chaos. No existing book thus far focuses on mathematically elegant chaotic systems. This book should therefore be of interest to chaos researchers looking for simple systems to use in their studies, to instructors who want examples to teach and motivate students, and to students doing independent study.
