Download or read book Electron Capture Negative Ion Mass Spectra of Environmental Contaminants Related Compounds written by R. A. Hites and published by Wiley. This book was released on 1988-05-31 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the ECNI mass spectra of 361 compounds selected to include the major classes of environmental con- taminants, such as those found on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's priority pollutant list. Compound clas- ses of environmental importance include halogenated benzenes and phenols, nitrobenzenes and the related dinitro herbicides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, DDT derivatives, hexachloro- cyclopentadiene pesticides, halogenated biphenyls, dioxins, and dibenzofurans. The spectra, measured with the ion source at 100 oC and 250 oC, are reported graphically. In addition, compound name, Chemical Abstracts registry number, molecular weight, and structure are given. This collection of reference spectra will be of use to environmental scientists and to analytical chemists concerned with the sensitive detection and identification of synthetic chemicals in a wide variety of matrices.

Book Handbook of Mass Spectra of Environmental Contaminants

Download or read book Handbook of Mass Spectra of Environmental Contaminants written by Ronald A. Hites and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1992-06-10 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Handbook of Mass Spectra of Environmental Contaminants, Second Edition is a collection of the electron impact mass spectra of 533 commonly encountered environmental pollutants. The compounds were selected from an analysis of several U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and World Health Organization databases. All data have been reviewed by a panel of experienced mass spectrometrists. To help identify unknown compounds, all spectra have been indexed by common chemical name, CAS registry number, exact molecular weight, and intense peaks. Completely revised and expanded, the Handbook of Mass Spectra of Environmental Contaminants, Second Edition, provides information essential to environmental laboratory specialists world-wide. This handbook is a collection of the electron impact mass spectra of 533 commonly encountered environmental pollutants, selected from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and World Health Organization databases.

Book Fundamentals of Contemporary Mass Spectrometry

Download or read book Fundamentals of Contemporary Mass Spectrometry written by Chhabil Dass and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-05-11 with total page 512 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern mass spectrometry - the instrumentation and applications in diverse fields Mass spectrometry has played a pivotal role in a variety of scientific disciplines. Today it is an integral part of proteomics and drug discovery process. Fundamentals of Contemporary Mass Spectrometry gives readers a concise and authoritative overview of modern mass spectrometry instrumentation, techniques, and applications, including the latest developments. After an introduction to the history of mass spectrometry and the basic underlying concepts, it covers: Instrumentation, including modes of ionization, condensed phase ionization techniques, mass analysis and ion detection, tandem mass spectrometry, and hyphenated separation techniques Organic and inorganic mass spectrometry Biological mass spectrometry, including the analysis of proteins and peptides, oligosaccharides, lipids, oligonucleotides, and other biological materials Applications to quantitative analysis Based on proven teaching principles, each chapter is complete with a concise overview, highlighted key points, practice exercises, and references to additional resources. Hints and solutions to the exercises are provided in an appendix. To facilitate learning and improve problem-solving skills, several worked-out examples are included. This is a great textbook for graduate students in chemistry, and a robust, practical resource for researchers and scientists, professors, laboratory managers, technicians, and others. It gives scientists in diverse disciplines a practical foundation in modern mass spectrometry.
