This book was released on 1983 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Extract: The main objective of this study is to analyze the future investment patterns for various types of farm machinery in the ten U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regions. The specific objectives are as follows: 1. to develop and estimate a block recursive forecasting model of the U.S. farm machinery investment sector with regional delineation recognizing the possible linkages between interrelated variables relevant to the farming sector. 2. to analyze the effects of energy price policies on regional and national investments in farm machinery. 3. to analyze the impact of alternative levels of crop support prices on farm machinery investments. 4. to forecast farm machinery investments up to 1990 under alternative export level scenarios.

Download or read book Economic Analysis of U S Farm Mechanization written by Kisan R. Gunjal and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Extract: Agriculture in the United States can be characterized as one of the most mechanized in the world. For the last four decades the level of mechanization has dictated the direction in which our agriculture is moving. We at the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) have undertaken a major two-part project to determine the future of mechanization in agriculture in the changing economic environment. The project treats the mechanization as a system interlinked to the other aspects of agriculture at the national and regional levels. This CARD report deals with the first part of the project which explains the changes in mechanization structure in terms of the machinery size, numbers, value, horsepower, productivity etc. in agriculture. This report further presents and discusses the results of the econometric analysis of the regional and national investments in tractors, harvesting machinery and other machinery.
Download or read book U S Agriculture s Potential to Supply World Food Markets written by Clark Edwards and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Extract: Domestic markets are growing too slowly to absorb increases in U.S. farm production. But reliance on foreign markets can make farmers vulnerable to sudden swings in prices, which are transmitted to other domestic sectors as well. This report assesses U.S. agriculture's capacity to meet domestic and export demands, and the likely consequences of doing so, under different economic assumptions about the future. By shifting production among regions, adopting new technology, and keeping up the quality of its resources, U.S. agriculture could double its exports within the next 30 years.
