Este modelo de gobernanza debe ir acompañado de una reducción del impacto medioambiental de los productos y tecnologías generadas. El análisis de la sostenibilidad de los medios en la era digital --amenazada por el desarrollo de las economías liberales y la crisis del Estado del Bienestar--requiere una mirada crítica y un planteamiento radical en aspectos económicos, culturales, ecosociales y legales de los sistemas de producción, distribución y consumo en al menos sus tres ámbitos: los grandes grupos mediáticos, los medios públicos, y el tercer sector de los medios comunitarios. En este libro se identifican las dificultades de los medios en materia de sostenibilidad bajo las actuales condiciones materiales, explorando los retos y oportunidades del entorno digital para plantear modelos y prácticas comunicativas más justas y participativas.
