This book was released on 2014-07-08 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Current global economic crises call for social responsibility to replace neo-liberalistic, one-sided and short-term criteria causing monopolies of global enterprises. The triad ‘freedom, brotherhood, equality’ and ‘the invisible hand’ support the hypothesis of interdependence among humans. Humanity’s existence is endangered under the threat of global capitalism, unless the social responsibility’s concept ‘everyone’s social responsibility impacts everyone in society’ becomes the new socio-economic order, realized alongside concepts as ‘interdependence’ and ‘holism’ and using its principles of accountability, transparency, ethical behavior, respect for stakeholders, for the rule of law, for international norms and human rights. Social Responsibility – A non-technological innovation process explores the realm of social responsibility in the context of innovation, business practice and economic crises. Readers can apply related principles to their business practices and enhance their business prospects in a modern environment facing the challenges of socio-economic crises. This volume is intended for graduates and professionals working in government organizations and commercial enterprises, to learn basic concepts about social responsibility and introduce holistic management practices in their daily and professional lives.

Book Capacity Building in National Environmental Policy

Download or read book Capacity Building in National Environmental Policy written by Helmut Weidner and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the second collection of systematic case studies describing national environmental policies in 17 countries in terms of capacity building (see Appen dix). The OECD defines environmental capacity building as "a society's ability to identify and solve environmental problems. " While various institutions, including UNEP, FAO, World Bank and OECD, have hitherto used the terms environmental capacity and capacity building almost exclusively with reference to developing countries, we have extended the concepts to industrialized countries, as well. The first collection, edited by Martin Janicke, Helge Joergens (both Free University Berlin) and Helmut Weidner (Social Science Research Center Berlin), was pub lished in 1997 under the title "National Environmental Policies - A Comparative Study of Capacity-Building" (Berlin, etc. : Springer Verlag). It included 13 studies of countries. As in the first volume, chapter I presents the conceptual framework underlying the national case studies. It is a slightly shorter version of the corresponding chap ter in volume I. The design of all case studies in the two volumes is largely con gruent with this conceptual framework. Although the various sections of the stud ies do not always have identical titles and subtitles, the central elements of the capacity-building approach have been applied in all cases.

Book Sustainable Marketing and the Circular Economy in Poland

Download or read book Sustainable Marketing and the Circular Economy in Poland written by Anita Proszowska and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-03-22 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sustainable Marketing and the Circular Economy in Poland outlines the specific challenges around formulating an organisation's marketing strategy in line with the circular economy (CE) framework. This book helps to solve the problem of ineffective pro-environmental programmes and marketing tools, which are currently used by enterprises to make their activities more sustainable. The authors identify key concepts and strategies of sustainable marketing to highlight the trends and development directions of marketing activities of modern enterprises. Focussing on Poland as a central case study, the book is illustrated with examples of organisations that are implementing sustainable marketing activities that are compatible with the CE model. It also presents the results of studies which examined the pro-environmental marketing efforts of small- and medium-sized enterprises, non-governmental organisations and other actors in Poland. To conclude, the authors put forward recommendations for CE network stakeholders regarding sustainable marketing management, focussing specifically on how to avoid accusations of greenwashing and other unethical organisational behaviour. This book will be of great interest to students and scholars of green marketing, sustainable business and the CE, as well as entrepreneurs and business professionals looking to formulate sustainable marketing strategies.
