The fourth generation of the Virginia DuVals was William Pope DuVal moved to Kentucky where he became a member of Congress and, later, was apointed governor of the Territory of Florida. He married Nancy Hynes and they had eight children. Three sons, Burr H., Thomas H., and John C. moved to Texas where they became prominent in law and politics. The Duvals married into the West family who were also prominent in Texas and a son, DuVal West, later became special envoy to Mexico for President Wilson. Descendants live in Texas, Florida and other parts of the United States.
