Download or read book The Dual Nature of Life written by Gennadiy Zhegunov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-07-25 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life is a diverse and ubiquitous phenomenon on Earth, characterized by fundamental features distinguishing living bodies from nonliving material. Yet it is also so complex that it has long defied precise definition. This book from a seasoned biologist offers new insights into the nature of life by illuminating a fascinating architecture of dualities inherent in its existence and propagation. Life is connected with individual living beings, yet it is also a collective and inherently global phenomenon of the material world. It embodies a dual existence of cycles of phenotypic life, and their unseen driver — an uninterrupted march of genetic information whose collective immortality is guaranteed by individual mortality. Although evolution propagates and tunes species of organisms, the beings produced can be regarded merely as tools for the survival and cloning of genomes written in an unchanging code. What are the physical versus informational bases and driving forces of life, and how do they unite as an integrated system? What does time mean for individuals, life on the global scale, and the underlying information? This accessible examination of principles and evidence shows that a network of dualities lies at the heart of biological puzzles that have engaged the human mind for millennia.

This book was released on 2022-08-05 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book was produced due to answer the basic questions and the basic ideas about the origin and fate of Human Beings cannot be resolved only through beautiful mathematical equations, but also can be answered through spiritual wisdom. “Human Duality Principle”. this book is the result of the great efforts of mine try to explain the Spiritual-Self (Spirit & Gnosis) and Natural-self (Body & Mind) of Human Being are inherited in the self of Human Being. The Dual nature of Human being, the self in its inner life has two phases, subsequent to its natural (mind) and spiritual (spirit) existence. Human Being is the most exclusive individual and therefore the duality of spirit and mind both are associated with him. The self in its inner life has two phases, subsequent to its natural (mind) and spiritual (spirit) existence.
Download or read book Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter and Relativity written by santhosh kumar and published by . This book was released on 2019-03-30 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Photoelectric effect - Light waves and photons - Einstein's photo- electric equation - laws of photo - electric emission - particle natureof energy - photoelectric equation - work function - photo cells andtheir application.Matter waves - wave mechanical concept of the atom - wavenature of particles - De-Broglie relation - De-Broglie wave length ofan electron - electron microscope.Concept of space, mass, time - Frame of references. Specialtheory of relativity - Relativity of length, time and mass with velocity- (E = mc2).The true nature of light is difficult to assess. Experiments showed thatlight exhibited wavelike properties of diffraction and interference. On theother hand, photoelectric effect indicates that light has the aspects of aparticle photon, with both energy and momentum. Thus light exhibits awave-particle duality. The wave-particle duality was extended to particles as matter waves byLouis de Broglie. His theoretical study on the nature of particles andwaves led to the invention of a new mechanics of particles calledquantum mechanics.

Download or read book The Dual Nature of Islamic Fundamentalism written by Johannes J. G. Jansen and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 1997 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fundamentalism rejects a core belief of modernity - the separation of religion and politics - and so, according to Jansen, always has an antimodern or reactionary basis. To explore the logic of contemporary fundamentalist ideology, Jansen draws on the work of the two dominant Islamic commentators on religion and politics, Al-Afghani from the nineteenth century and Ibn Taymiyya from the fourteenth.
Download or read book Quantum Mechanics written by Murugan and published by Pearson Education India. This book was released on 2014 with total page 729 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spread over 16 chapters, this book gives a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental postulates and the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics. It spells the rules that facilitate translation of abstract mathematical information into physical terms to enable students understand the emergence of particle property in all quantum objects. With the right balance of theory and problems, this book gives an insight to the conceptual framework of quantum systems, which shaped our understanding of the physical universe and its evolution through the years. There are numerous worked-out examples and practice exercises to help students gain sufficient proficiency.

Download or read book Aristotle s Science of Matter and Motion written by Christopher Byrne and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2018-01-01 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although Aristotle's contribution to biology has long been recognized, there are many philosophers and historians of science who still hold that he was the great delayer of natural science, calling him the man who held up the Scientific Revolution by two thousand years. They argue that Aristotle never considered the nature of matter as such or the changes that perceptible objects undergo simply as physical objects; he only thought about the many different, specific natures found in perceptible objects. Aristotle's Science of Matter and Motion focuses on refuting this misconception, arguing that Aristotle actually offered a systematic account of matter, motion, and the basic causal powers found in all physical objects. Author Christopher Byrne sheds lights on Aristotle's account of matter, revealing how Aristotle maintained that all perceptible objects are ultimately made from physical matter of one kind or another, accounting for their basic common features. For Aristotle, then, matter matters a great deal.
Download or read book Technical Artefacts Creations of Mind and Matter written by Peter Kroes and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-05-24 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents an attempt to understand the nature of technical artefacts and the way they come into being. Its primary focus is the kind of technical artefacts designed and produced by modern engineering. In spite of their pervasive influence on human thinking and doing, and therefore on the modern human condition, a philosophical analysis of technical artefacts and engineering design is lacking. Among the questions addressed are: How do technical artefacts fit into the furniture of the universe? In what sense are they different from objects from the natural world, or from the social world? What kind of activity is engineering design and what does it mean to say that technical artefacts are the embodiment of a design? Does it make sense to consider technical artefacts to be morally good or bad by themselves because of the way they influence human life? The book advances the thesis that technical artefacts, conceived of as physical constructions with a technical function, have a dual nature; they are hybrid objects combining physical and intentional features. It proposes a theory of technical functions and technical artefact kinds that does justice to this dual nature, analyses engineering design from the dual nature point of view, and argues that technical artefacts, because of their dual nature, have inherent moral significance.
Download or read book Law s Ideal Dimension written by Robert Alexy and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2021 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Law's Ideal Dimension provides a comprehensive account in English of renowned legal theorist Robert Alexy's understanding of jurisprudence, as expanded upon from his publications A Theory of Legal Argumentation (OUP 1989), A Theory of Constitutional Rights (OUP 1985), and The Argument fromInjustice (OUP 1992).The collection is divided into three parts. Part One concerns the nature of law: it explores its real and ideal dimensions and how the ideal dimension of law is sometimes employed but does not play a systematically important role. Part Two discusses constitutional rights, human rights, andproportionality. It defends the construction of constitutional rights as principles against objections raised by the rule construction and elaborates on the nature of constitutional rights as well as the mathematical balancing of those rights. Part Three concerns the relation between argumentation, correctness, and law. The author concludes this volume with a biographical reflection.
