Book Dream Well for Nothing Is out of Reach

Download or read book Dream Well for Nothing Is out of Reach written by Jennifer Presley and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2008-08-15 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These poems are to maintain your lightness of being. They are for moments when you could use reminding that there is more to life than what the seemingly mundane world has to offer. Combining depth and subtle inspiration, they speak about a way of being our souls recognize, but our conscious minds forget to embrace always. They echo Rumi in their simple lines reflecting our inner relationship to the Divine. They mirror the essence of awaken consciousness leaders like Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and Dr. Deepak Chopra They all speak about living beyond ego, into Real Being and co-creating our life with an awareness of Who We Really Are. This leading edge of information coming from many directions, both from new and very old sources, is becoming a wave of understanding causing a critical mass of change in how we think and feel about our ordinary reality. This book of poetry reflects these ideas beautifully. It holds elements of truth that can be understood equally through the language of science, world religion and the general society alike. Let the Divine pour through my essence into you, until you see how you were never alone, even before me. I am the living embodiment of Source come to hold you with all the tenderness and depth of love that exists, awakening you to know that this too, is you. How we feel is more important than simply what we think. Understanding is vital, but to be in alignment with our desires, we must clear up the depths of how we feel. Our assumptions affect how we navigate in this world, and the quality of both what we receive and of what we give to others, immediately and in the broader sense of existence. As above, so below, microcosm, macrocosm, even in heaven as on earth all reflect this truth we have been given in so many forms through the ages. Being reminded of these things is the purpose of this poetry. My bliss spills over my lips and I am unable to contain the unbounded possibility such joy gives me. You are a gift of light illuminating my true essence, awakening Source within me by your presence and laughter. Written in two sections, it focuses on the quality of life in how that is felt, which governs most of our behaviour regardless of how left brained we are focused on being. The first section is On Love..., since that is the bond between us all, in so many forms and expressions. That is our fundamental connection both to each other and to the greater whole being of the living universe, whether you call that God, Goddess, the Divine, Source energy, whatever name you give to the nameless. I feel your presence with me. Make room for me in your life, you whisper. My heart opens with joy knowing my soul has found beauty to nestle with & flourish. The second section ...and Other Things includes all other topics from being in nature to the nature of manifestation of both our dreams and ordinary realities. It has simple observations of life and glimpses of the greater truths in small things that those who are awakening have begun to notice more. As we focus our attention on what is important, nuanced mirrors reflect back to us elements of ourselves in so many forms. We see, if we are open, pieces of us in everyone. This gives us a deeper understanding of not only ourselves, but of all life. "Standing still enough so that all of me is motionless, there is no reason to hug the trees. They reach out to touch me as a new member of the forest gently welcoming me into their collective feelings of joy and belonging. The breeze lovingly caresses around our core stillness as we softly deepen into the earth."

Download or read book Robert Duncan written by Robert Duncan and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2014-01-01 with total page 927 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Profoundly original yet insistent on the derivative quality of his work, transgressive yet affirmative of tradition, Robert Duncan (1919-1988) was a generative force among American poets, and his poetry and poetics establish him as a major figure in mid- and late- 20th-century American letters. This second volume of Robert Duncan’s collected poetry and plays presents authoritative annotated texts of both collected and uncollected work from his middle and late writing years (1958-1988), with commentaries on each of the five books from this period: The Opening of the Field, Roots and Branches, Bending the Bow, and the two volumes of Ground Work. The biographical and critical introduction discusses Duncan as a late Romantic and postmodern American writer; his formulation of a homosexual poetics; his development of the serial poem; the notation and centrality of sound as organizing principle; his relations with such fellow poets as Robin Blaser, Charles Olson, and Jack Spicer; his indebtedness to Alfred North Whitehead; and his collaborations with the painter Jess Collins, his lifelong partner. Texts include his anti-war poems of the 1960s and 70s, his homages to Dante and other canonical poets, and his translations from the French of Gérard de Nerval, as well as the complete Structure of Rime and Passages series.

Book excerpt: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • NATIONAL BOOK AWARD WINNER • NAMED ONE OF TIME’S TEN BEST NONFICTION BOOKS OF THE DECADE • PULITZER PRIZE FINALIST • NATIONAL BOOK CRITICS CIRCLE AWARD FINALIST • ONE OF OPRAH’S “BOOKS THAT HELP ME THROUGH” • NOW AN HBO ORIGINAL SPECIAL EVENT Hailed by Toni Morrison as “required reading,” a bold and personal literary exploration of America’s racial history by “the most important essayist in a generation and a writer who changed the national political conversation about race” (Rolling Stone) NAMED ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL BOOKS OF THE DECADE BY CNN • NAMED ONE OF PASTE’S BEST MEMOIRS OF THE DECADE • NAMED ONE OF THE TEN BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY The New York Times Book Review • O: The Oprah Magazine • The Washington Post • People • Entertainment Weekly • Vogue • Los Angeles Times • San Francisco Chronicle • Chicago Tribune • New York • Newsday • Library Journal • Publishers Weekly In a profound work that pivots from the biggest questions about American history and ideals to the most intimate concerns of a father for his son, Ta-Nehisi Coates offers a powerful new framework for understanding our nation’s history and current crisis. Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race,” a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of black women and men—bodies exploited through slavery and segregation, and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’s attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son. Coates shares with his son—and readers—the story of his awakening to the truth about his place in the world through a series of revelatory experiences, from Howard University to Civil War battlefields, from the South Side of Chicago to Paris, from his childhood home to the living rooms of mothers whose children’s lives were taken as American plunder. Beautifully woven from personal narrative, reimagined history, and fresh, emotionally charged reportage, Between the World and Me clearly illuminates the past, bracingly confronts our present, and offers a transcendent vision for a way forward.

Book excerpt: ** A New York Times Bestseller ** NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY: Time • The New Yorker • NPR • GQ • Elle • Vulture • Fortune • Boing Boing • The Irish Times • The New York Public Library • The Brooklyn Public Library "A complex, smart and ambitious book that at first reads like a self-help manual, then blossoms into a wide-ranging political manifesto."—Jonah Engel Bromwich, The New York Times Book Review One of President Barack Obama's "Favorite Books of 2019" Porchlight's Personal Development & Human Behavior Book of the Year In a world where addictive technology is designed to buy and sell our attention, and our value is determined by our 24/7 data productivity, it can seem impossible to escape. But in this inspiring field guide to dropping out of the attention economy, artist and critic Jenny Odell shows us how we can still win back our lives. Odell sees our attention as the most precious—and overdrawn—resource we have. And we must actively and continuously choose how we use it. We might not spend it on things that capitalism has deemed important … but once we can start paying a new kind of attention, she writes, we can undertake bolder forms of political action, reimagine humankind’s role in the environment, and arrive at more meaningful understandings of happiness and progress. Far from the simple anti-technology screed, or the back-to-nature meditation we read so often, How to do Nothing is an action plan for thinking outside of capitalist narratives of efficiency and techno-determinism. Provocative, timely, and utterly persuasive, this book will change how you see your place in our world.
