Book The Fianchetto Solution

Download or read book The Fianchetto Solution written by Emmanuel Neiman and published by New In Chess. This book was released on 2016-10-13 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Complete, Solid and Flexible Chess Opening Repertoire for Black & White – with the King’s Fianchetto When experienced chess teacher Emmanuel Neiman learned that some of his pupils hesitated to play in competitions for fear of being crushed in the opening, he wanted to help. Neiman knew that amateurs have little time to seriously study opening theory, so he had to come up with a practical, complete, easy-to-learn and solid opening repertoire that would not outdate rapidly. And that is what he did. Neiman advises amateurs to play (with both colours!) the flexible King’s Fianchetto system, where the Bishop is a defender of the King and at the same time an attacker. No matter what side you are, you use the same basic ideas: as White you are targeting the light squares and as Black the dark squares, while applying roughly the same strategies, plans and tactical motifs. Neiman has teamed up with Samy Shoker, who gained the Grandmaster title by mainly playing the King’s Fianchetto systems (and sometimes beating 2700+ rated players with it!). The result is a complete and practical repertoire which will give club players a sound and flexible middlegame position they can feel at home in. In many lines Neiman and Shoker not only present a solid approach but also a sharp and aggressive alternative. The authors don’t promise you a large advantage every time you play their system, but one thing is certain: after studying this entertaining book you can play the opening confidently and you will be a better all-round player because you have learned many essential middlegame lessons. Even (very) strong players will find the ideas of Neiman and Shoker useful as an easy-to-play occasional weapon.

Book The Hippopotamus Defence

Download or read book The Hippopotamus Defence written by Alessio de Santis and published by New In Chess. This book was released on 2019-08-08 with total page 631 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Hippopotamus Defence is just what a club player needs. It’s a straightforward and clear-cut chess opening that avoids the ever growing body of mainline theory. It’s universal: Black can use the Hippo against virtually all of White’s choices (1.e4, 1.d4, 1.c4, 1.f4, the Colle, London, Trompowsky, Réti and others). It’s not very well known and will surprise many opponents. On top of all that, the Hippo is seriously underestimated: with its characteristic double fianchetto it may look quiet, but inside there lurks a very dangerous animal. FIDE Master Alessio de Santis is one of the world’s greatest experts on the Hippo and has written a practical, well-structured and accessible manual. His book can be studied on three levels: after a first flash of 3 to 4 hours you will be familiar with the Hippo’s basic moves and key variations, its strategic themes and recurring manoeuvres. In the second and third stage De Santis leads you through the most important concrete lines and introduces the Semi-Hippopotamus to counter some specific White ideas. You can use the Hippo as a surprise weapon or as your main repertoire. The extensive explanations and clear conclusions make this book an easy-to-navigate manual for all club players. If you like to confront your opponents with some unexpected counter-attacks, then you need not look any further.

Book Double Fianchetto The Ultimate Workbook

Download or read book Double Fianchetto The Ultimate Workbook written by Daniel Hausrath and published by Double Fianchetto. This book was released on 2022-01-18 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main part of the book is divided into exercises and solutions, with 110 positions taken from double fianchetto games. I have divided the exercises into chapters, with each chapter featuring games by players who have deployed the double fianchetto quite often. You will find a lot of typical motifs used by these players. In this part you will also detect a few examples of play by the legendary German IM Podzielny, who died in the summer of 2019 at the legendary chess age of 64. My heart urged me to write something about him, because I knew him for a long time and he was a very special person. The difficulty level ranges from very easy through to very tough, but I won't give points for the solutions. The ideas vary from tactics to important strategic subtleties. The reader decides how honestly he or she tries to solve these exercises. It is also not necessary to solve all of them, but it is definitely important to think about these positions and take your time. The reader should gain an impression of the many ideas and structures which are possible in the double fianchetto positions. Sometimes you will find the complete games in the solutions section, but sometimes you will only fi nd the most important moves up to a certain point, because the rest would be irrelevant to the topic. In some solutions I also give the first moves, because I guess that it would be very interesting to know which move order was played to reach the positions in question. GM Daniel Hausrath, October 2021

Book Keep It Simple 1 d4

Download or read book Keep It Simple 1 d4 written by Christof Sielecki and published by New In Chess. This book was released on 2019-12-12 with total page 774 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After the success of his award-winning book Keep it Simple 1.e4 International Master Christof Sielecki is back. His new repertoire based on 1.d4 has a similar profile: variations that are straightforward and easy to remember, and require little or no maintenance. Sielecki has created a reliable set of opening lines for chess players of almost all levels. The major objective is to dominate Black from the opening, by simple means. You don’t need to sacrifice anything or memorize long tactical lines. His main concept is for White to play 1.d4, 2.Nf3, 3.g3, 4.Bg2, 5.0-0 and in most cases 6.c4. Sielecki developed this repertoire while working with students who were looking for something that was easy to understand and easy to learn. This new 1.d4 repertoire may be even easier to master than his 1.e4 recommendations, because it is such a coherent system. Sielecki always clearly explains the plans and counterplans and keeps you focussed on what the position requires. Ambitious players rated 1500 or higher will get great value out of studying this extremely accessible book.
