Book Don t Worry All Will Be Well

Download or read book Don t Worry All Will Be Well written by Marilena Patton and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2014-07-21 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do you define your daily life-an adventure or a struggle? How do you define yourself-a victor or a victim? This book is a summary of my own life experiences, which has brought me to the conclusion that the answer to these questions is entirely dependent on how we view God. The deeper our knowledge is of His character and traits, the more capable we will be of turning our struggle into an adventure and our defeat into a victory. This is the key to a lasting freedom from fear and the embracing of God's purpose for each of our lives. Marilena Odorico Patton is a teacher and life coach. She was born in Romentino (Novara), North Italy. From a very young age, she had a passion for making a difference in people's lives and has been involved in volunteer projects for more than thirty years. She has spent ten years in India and twenty in Thailand, where she participated in relief work, visited refugee camps, and worked with others to help improve the quality of life at institutions for the underprivileged. Her greatest desire is for each individual to know God in a deeper way and consequently discover the joy of finding the unique purpose He has for everyone. She is currently living in Italy with her husband Trevor.

  • Author : Randall Platt
  • Publisher : Simon and Schuster
  • Release : 2014-11-04
  • ISBN : 1632202107
  • Pages : 336 pages

Download or read book Incommunicado written by Randall Platt and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2014-11-04 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just about everyone is incommunicado in the small, sleepy Oregon coastal town of Sea Park during winter. Until Pearl Harbor, that is, when it springs to patriotic life. But is Ruby Opal Pearl (a.k.a. Jewels) Stokes the only person to see what’s really happening here? Tommy Kasamoto, the one person in her life who has provided security, shelter, and a smidgeon of respect—and who owns the biggest resort on the coast—is now the cause of the town’s rage. Tommy’s Japanese ancestry makes him the prime target of an angry mob, not to mention he’s also rich, has a shady past, and everyone in town owes him money. As the town's patriotism blossoms into paranoia and turns violent, Jewels has to do something to protect Tommy from internment (or worse), even if that something is going up against the town and the government, not to mention the FBI. Thus begins a fourteen-year-old girl’s war within a war. Randall Platt’s Incommunicado is both timely and timeless. It's about the meaning of courage and the willingness to stand up for what's right, even when it goes against the prevailing attitudes of the time and place. It's also about the insidious way groups and communities can nurture ignorance and prejudice. But most of all, it’s an adventure story set in a town full of unforgettable characters, during a time of great intrigue and peril, no matter which enemy or on what front you fight. Sky Pony Press, with our Good Books, Racehorse and Arcade imprints, is proud to publish a broad range of books for young readers—picture books for small children, chapter books, books for middle grade readers, and novels for young adults. Our list includes bestsellers for children who love to play Minecraft; stories told with LEGO bricks; books that teach lessons about tolerance, patience, and the environment, and much more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

Book The Point of Deflection

    Book Details:
  • Author : Dr. M. Bahaidar
  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2018-01-23
  • ISBN : 1543433723
  • Pages : 145 pages

Download or read book The Point of Deflection written by Dr. M. Bahaidar and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-01-23 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Point of Deflection is a book that gives you a deeper understanding of why people change in perception or even in behavior. Have you ever asked a kid what they want to be when they grow up? A quick answer may come up, such as being a doctor, a pilot, or whichever career they may be passionate about. But give it a duration of ten to fifteen years and ask a similar question to the same individuals, and the feedback may differ. So the question is, what changed? What makes us different? Is it the influence of our society, family, and friends? Or is it the circumstance and peer pressure that mold us into better or worse individuals? Life is all about the steps we take that land us into either the arms of success or failure. All in all, these decisions are ours to make, and sometimes these choices may put us into an edge, stranded and with no hope. Going back may not be an option anymore, and heading forth is hopeless as a huge ocean of calamities may be confronting us with limited privileges since we are on a dead end. At this point, it’s where people lose hope and give up, or some even commit suicide. We lose sight of our dreams and goals, and we forget destiny has a distinctive way of viewing things. A huge obstacle of natural disaster and nuclear crisis in Japan brought forth profound individuals such as Soichiro Honda. So instead of giving up, that may be destiny’s way of leading us into a different quest, which we may have no idea about. Rest assured that passion can be found in the darkest of circumstances.

Book She Smiled on Constantinople

Download or read book She Smiled on Constantinople written by Reynold Spector and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2008-05-01 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 717 AD, Constantinople, the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium), appeared doomed. In the preceding eighty years, Muslim Arabs had captured much of North Africa and the Middle East, and were poised to take Constantinople. To save Byzantium, the senate asked a Roman General, Leo III, to become Emperor. Leo and his brilliant son Constantine V radically altered the Byzantine imperial system militarily and culturally. Leo developed a novel idea - that God was angry with the Byzantine Christians because they worshiped Christian icons, relics, and pagan idols, thus ignoring the Second Commandment. God would favor the Byzantines only if they destroyed their icons and purified Christianity. Leo's policy set in motion a century-long conflict between the iconoclast (icon breaker) emperors and the iconophiles (icon lovers). This religious struggle culminated in a final battle to define Byzantine Christianity and the control of the Empire. This novel recounts who won, why and how.

Jillan is initially hunted by just the soldiers of the Saint of his region, but others soon begin to hear of his increasing power and seek to use him for their own ends. Book excerpt: Starred reviews from Library Journal and Publishers Weekly Award-winning author Irina Reyn explores what it means to be a mother in a world where you can't be with your child Nadia's daily life in south Brooklyn is filled with small indignities: as a senior home attendant, she is always in danger of being fired; as a part-time nanny, she is forced to navigate the demands of her spoiled charge and the preschooler's insecure mother; and as an ethnic Russian, she finds herself feuding with western Ukrainian immigrants who think she is a traitor. The war back home is always at the forefront of her reality. On television, Vladimir Putin speaks of the "reunification" of Crimea and Russia, the Ukrainian president makes unconvincing promises about a united Ukraine, while American politicians are divided over the fear of immigration. Nadia internalizes notions of "union" all around her, but the one reunion she has been waiting six years for - with her beloved daughter - is being eternally delayed by the Department of Homeland Security. When Nadia finds out that her daughter has lost access to the medicine she needs to survive, she takes matters into her own hands. Mother Country is Irina Reyn's most emotionally complex, urgent novel yet. It is a story of mothers and daughters and, above all else, resilience.
