Book Photogrammetric Computer Vision

Download or read book Photogrammetric Computer Vision written by Wolfgang Förstner and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-10-04 with total page 819 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook offers a statistical view on the geometry of multiple view analysis, required for camera calibration and orientation and for geometric scene reconstruction based on geometric image features. The authors have backgrounds in geodesy and also long experience with development and research in computer vision, and this is the first book to present a joint approach from the converging fields of photogrammetry and computer vision. Part I of the book provides an introduction to estimation theory, covering aspects such as Bayesian estimation, variance components, and sequential estimation, with a focus on the statistically sound diagnostics of estimation results essential in vision metrology. Part II provides tools for 2D and 3D geometric reasoning using projective geometry. This includes oriented projective geometry and tools for statistically optimal estimation and test of geometric entities and transformations and their relations, tools that are useful also in the context of uncertain reasoning in point clouds. Part III is devoted to modelling the geometry of single and multiple cameras, addressing calibration and orientation, including statistical evaluation and reconstruction of corresponding scene features and surfaces based on geometric image features. The authors provide algorithms for various geometric computation problems in vision metrology, together with mathematical justifications and statistical analysis, thus enabling thorough evaluations. The chapters are self-contained with numerous figures and exercises, and they are supported by an appendix that explains the basic mathematical notation and a detailed index. The book can serve as the basis for undergraduate and graduate courses in photogrammetry, computer vision, and computer graphics. It is also appropriate for researchers, engineers, and software developers in the photogrammetry and GIS industries, particularly those engaged with statistically based geometric computer vision methods.

Book Computer Program for the single Model Orientation Case of the General Problem of Photogrammetry

Download or read book Computer Program for the single Model Orientation Case of the General Problem of Photogrammetry written by Lila M. Butler and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents an electronic computer program for the analytical solution of the 'Single Model Orientation' problem, based on the theory documented in BRL Report No. 1065 (PB-145 274). The most recent developments of the analytical solution for the general problem of photogrammetry, as developed by H.H. Schmid, are included in this program. The program will solve single model orientations under all conditions. (Author).

Book Handbook of Research on Visual Computing and Emerging Geometrical Design Tools

Download or read book Handbook of Research on Visual Computing and Emerging Geometrical Design Tools written by Amoruso, Giuseppe and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2016-04-11 with total page 1035 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Visual computing and descriptive geometry are multidisciplinary fields addressing the handling of images, 3D models, and other computer graphics. These ideas are experiencing a revival due to emergent technologies and applications available to developers. Based in traditional forms of design and architecture, these fields are currently experiencing a bounty of new research based on old principles. The Handbook of Research on Visual Computing and Emerging Geometrical Design Tools seeks to add to this knowledge base by considering these technologies from a designer’s perspective rather than reiterating the principles of computer science. It combines aspects of geometry and representation with emerging tools for CAD, generation, and visualization while addressing the digital heritage of such fields. This book is an invaluable resource for developers, students of both graphic and computer-generated design, researchers, and designers.

Book 3D Research Challenges in Cultural Heritage II

Download or read book 3D Research Challenges in Cultural Heritage II written by Sander Münster and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-10-24 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book reflects a current state of the art and future perspectives of Digital Heritage focusing on not interpretative reconstruction and including as well as bridging practical and theoretical perspectives, strategies and approaches. Comprehensive key challenges are related to knowledge transfer and management as well as data handling within a interpretative digital reconstruction of Cultural Heritage including aspects of digital object creation, sustainability, accessibility, documentation, presentation, preservation and more general scientific compatibility. The three parts of the book provide an overview of a scope of usage scenarios, a current state of infrastructures as digital libraries, information repositories for an interpretative reconstruction of Cultural Heritage; highlight strategies, practices and principles currently used to ensure compatibility, reusability and sustainability of data objects and related knowledge within a 3D reconstruction work process on a day to day work basis; and show innovative concepts for the exchange, publishing and management of 3D objects and for inherit knowledge about data, workflows and semantic structures.
