Book excerpt: The Fifth book in the Divine Heretic Series is Divine Heretic - Alchemist. The inspiration for the title came from alchemical transformation on a spiritual level. We are all here learning from our experiences, good or bad, for the evolvement of our souls. The inflow of the light of God, when realized and acknowledged beyond any limited dogmatic views, lifts and frees us from the shadows of imprisonment humanity creates. When we transmute our energy and raise our vibration, we are ascending. We do this through experience and choice. We are worthy, magnificent beings of love in a temporary state of forgetfulness. Awakening, transforming and rising above this illusionary plane is a form of alchemy. This life experience is an alchemical experiment. We create by free will choice and rising above illusion. We transform ourselves by our choices. On the spiritual journey, when an initiate hears or feels the magnetic call of the heart and soul to Divine Source, they begin to rise above programming. We hold the keys to our self-created cells. We hold the keys to the new doors waiting to open. We are all connected to each other. When we think of ourselves as separate (which comes from ego) we suffer and lose our power. It's time to take our power back and stand in our power. A'ho. Amen.

Book excerpt: A classic, prize-winning novel about an epic migration and a lone woman haunted by the past in frontier Waipu. In the 1850s, a group of settlers established a community at Waipu in the northern part of New Zealand. They were led there by a stern preacher, Norman McLeod. The community had followed him from Scotland in 1817 to found a settlement in Nova Scotia, then subsequently to New Zealand via Australia. Their incredible journeys actually happened, and in this winner of the New Zealand Book Awards, Fiona Kidman breathes life and contemporary relevance into the facts by creating a remarkable fictional story of three women entangled in the migrations - Isabella, her daughter Annie and granddaughter Maria. McLeod's harsh leadership meant that anyone who ran counter to him had to live a life of secrets. The 'secrets' encapsulated the spirit of these women in their varied reactions to McLeod's strict edicts and connect the past to the present and future.

Her hair was long and flowing, And in the dream it covered her face, But her energy he could never forget, Because it was filled with light and grace. And the feelings of peace and acceptance, Which he felt so strongly right there, Swirled around him like soothing waves, As did the tendrils of her hair. He woke to the ribbons of moonlight, With a smile upon his lips, Because before she left him in his dream, She had given him an enchanting kiss. Janine Palmer (Silver Moon)

Book Alchemy Alchemists

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sean Martin
  • Publisher : Oldacastle Books
  • Release : 2006-11-24
  • ISBN : 1842435388
  • Pages : 162 pages

Download or read book Alchemy Alchemists written by Sean Martin and published by Oldacastle Books. This book was released on 2006-11-24 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Alchemy has traditionally been viewed as 'the history of an error', an example of medieval gullibility and greed, in which alchemists tried to turn lead into gold, create fabulous wealth and find the elixir of life. But alchemy has also been described as 'the mightiest secret that a man can possess', and it obsessed the likes of Isaac Newton, Robert Boyle, and many of the founders of modern science. This book explores the history of the so-called Royal Art, from its mysterious beginnings in Egypt and China, through the Hellenistic world and the early years of Islam and into mediaeval Europe. Some of the greatest minds of the Middle Ages, figures such as Albertus Magnus, Roger Bacon, and Thomas Aquinas were drawn to alchemy, and legendary alchemists such as Nicholas Flamel were thought to have actually succeeded in finding The Philosopher's Stone. During the Renaissance, Paracelsus and his followers helped revolutionize medicine, and during the seventeenth century, alchemy played a major role in paving the way for modern science. During the twentieth century, it became a focus of interest for the psychologist Carl Jung and his followers, who believed that the alchemists had discovered the unconscious. In this fully revised edition, Sean Martin has expanded the sections on Chinese and Indian alchemy and has added new material on the relationship between alchemy and early modern science, while also making a fresh assessment of this most enduringly mysterious and fascinating of subjects, to which all others have been described as 'child's play'.

Book On Behalf of the Mystical Fool

Download or read book On Behalf of the Mystical Fool written by John P. Dourley and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2009-09-30 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jung's explanation of the religious tendency of the psyche addresses many sides of the contemporary debate on religion and the role that it has in individual and social life. This book discusses the emergence of a new mythic consciousness and details ways in which this consciousness supersedes traditional concepts of religion to provide a spirituality of more universal inclusion. On Behalf of the Mystical Fool examines Jung's critique of traditional western religion, demonstrating the negative consequences of religious and political collective unconsciousness, and their consequent social irresponsibility in today's culture. The book concludes by suggesting that a new religiosity and spirituality is currently emerging in the West based on the individual’s access to the sense of ultimacy residual in the psyche, and seeking expression in a myth of a much wider compass. This book will be of interest to scholars and students at all levels who are engaged in the expanding field of Jungian studies. It will also be key reading for anyone interested in the theoretical and therapeutic connections between the psyche and religious experience.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Alchemy of Punk, a thesis and opera developed by Aneta Panek as part of her PhD, investigates punk’s poetics and motifs, genealogy, and subversive reinvention. Reaching as far back as the Middle Ages and exploring the tradition of troubadours, minnesingers, madrigals, beggar’s operas, and murder ballads, Aneta proposes to understand punk as an embodiment of Dionysian art; a danse macabre celebrating life through performative, screamed poetry. In her textual exploration of punk—this thesis—she delves into the vast forms of expression adopted by punk’s vagabonds, outcasts, and poètes maudits, and in her artwork—the punk opera—she tests the theories and ideas presented in her thesis, bringing together the greatest voices of classical opera, punk, and industrial rock in an explosive spectacle of theatrical and musical experiences, video installation, and live performance.

Book Prophecy Alchemy and the End of Time

Download or read book Prophecy Alchemy and the End of Time written by Leah DeVun and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2013-12-01 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the middle of the fourteenth century, the Franciscan friar John of Rupescissa sent a dramatic warning to his followers: the end times were coming; the apocalypse was near. Rupescissa's teachings were unique in his era. He claimed that knowledge of the natural world, and alchemy in particular, could act as a defense against the calamity of the last days. He treated alchemy as medicine (his work was the conceptual forerunner of pharmacology), and reflected emerging technologies and views that sought to combat famine, plague, religious persecution, and war. In order to understand scientific knowledge as it is today, Leah DeVun asks that we revisit the Black Death, the Hundred Years' War, and the Avignon Papacy through Rupescissa's eyes. The advances he pioneered, along with the exciting strides made by his contemporaries, shed critical light on future developments in medicine, pharmacology, and chemistry.
