Book Blended and Online Teaching in the Humanities

Download or read book Blended and Online Teaching in the Humanities written by Marie-Anne Visoi and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2019-03-05 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers tested practices for successful design, implementation and teaching of blended and online courses in French and cultural studies. Founded on recent research, it promotes a contextualized, accessible environment through increased online access to authentic materials, face-to-face creative interaction, and embedded formative assessment. Each chapter focuses on major pedagogical issues associated with teaching blended and online courses, including instructional design, teaching tools adapted to a media-rich learning environment, and formative evaluation techniques through rubric-based assessment, self-evaluation and peer interaction. The book will appeal to humanities faculty and teaching assistants who plan the transition from the traditional classroom environment to blended and online teaching. The examples provided throughout clearly indicate that a good combination of proven pedagogies and technology-supported strategies will greatly enhance the quality of students’ learning through the acquisition of advanced linguistic skills and cultural competence in preparation for bilingual career certification, work and study abroad, and will lead to a deeper understanding of blended and online teaching and the future use of technology in higher education. Designed for use in small and large undergraduate courses in colleges and universities around the world, the book will be a major asset to any library collection looking to expand its humanities and education collections and reference sections.

Download or read book Enseignement de l histoire et diversit culturelle written by François Durpaire and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Teacher Education in the 21st Century

Download or read book Teacher Education in the 21st Century written by Antje-Marianne Kolde and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2016-08-17 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can teacher education prepare future teachers for their work in increasingly diverse classrooms? How does the concept of plurilingualism inform language educational policy in different countries? What are the current opportunities and challenges in the domain of internationalisation in teacher education? The contributions to this volume address these questions from different theoretical perspectives, and with a strong emphasis on the actual practices in various classrooms. At a time when simplistic, essentialist, biased, and discriminatory ideologies and practices see a rebirth in public discourse, and represent a risk to education, the contributors here take stock and describe some worthwhile alternatives. The first set of chapters addresses the integration of ethnic, religious, and gender diversity in teacher education colleges. In the second part, the notion of plurilingualism in different educational contexts is explored from a critical sociolinguistic point of view. The chapters in the third part present evidence from innovative international academic exchange programs and how they contribute to socio-spatial learning amongst others. The common denominator in this volume is the notion of convergence – the coexistence of people and practices in diverse contexts.

Book Entrepreneurs Et Entreprises en Qu te de Normes

Download or read book Entrepreneurs Et Entreprises en Qu te de Normes written by Maud Saint-Lary and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2009 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book The Palgrave Handbook of Race and Ethnic Inequalities in Education

Download or read book The Palgrave Handbook of Race and Ethnic Inequalities in Education written by Peter A.J. Stevens and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-07-05 with total page 1318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This authoritative, state-of-the-art reference work builds on its first edition to provide a cutting-edge systematic review of the relationship between race/ethnicity and educational inequality. Studying 25 different national contexts drawn from every inhabited continent on earth and building upon material from the earlier edition, the work analyses educational policies, practices and research on minority students, immigrants and refugees. The editors and contributors explore principal research traditions from countries as diverse as Argentina, China, Norway and South Africa, examining the factors promoting social cohesion as well as considerations regarding the use of international test score data. Seamlessly integrating findings of national reviews, the editors and contributors analyse how national contexts of race/ethnic relations shape the character and content of educational inequalities, and deftly map out new directions for future research in the area. Global in its perspective and definitive in content, this one-stop volume will be an indispensable reference resource for a wide range of academics, students and researchers in the fields of education, sociology, race and ethnicity studies and social policy. Book Building a European Public Sphere Un Espace Public Europ en en Construction

Download or read book Building a European Public Sphere Un Espace Public Europ en en Construction written by Robert Frank and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2010 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book edited by four known specialists of European history presents for the first time a discussion among European historians on the European public sphere since the 1950s. It treats the general perspective and deals also in special articles with the role played by the European Union, by the Council of Europe, and by national media such as television and film. The volume shows that the role of the European public sphere is often underestimated and that it is gradually becoming more influential and forceful not only in politics, but also in culture.
