Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by W. H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) * at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing. house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 25 (thesis year 1980) a total of 10,308 theses titles from 27 Canadian and 214 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. While Volume 25 reports theses submitted in 1980, on occasion, certain universities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.

Book Fundamentals and Frontiers of the Josephson Effect

Download or read book Fundamentals and Frontiers of the Josephson Effect written by Francesco Tafuri and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 859 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive and up-to-date description of the Josephson effect, a topic of never-ending interest in both fundamental and applied physics. In this volume, world-renowned experts present the unique aspects of the physics of the Josephson effect, resulting from the use of new materials, of hybrid architectures and from the possibility of realizing nanoscale junctions. These new experimental capabilities lead to systems where novel coherent phenomena and transport processes emerge. All this is of great relevance and impact, especially when combined with the didactic approach of the book. The reader will benefit from a general and modern view of coherent phenomena in weakly-coupled superconductors on a macroscopic scale. Topics that have been only recently discussed in specialized papers and in short reviews are described here for the first time and organized in a general framework. An important section of the book is also devoted to applications, with focus on long-term, future applications. In addition to a significant number of illustrations, the book includes numerous tables for comparative studies on technical aspects.

This book was released on 2006-05-31 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing for Wireless Communications is an edited volume with contributions by leading authorities in the subject of OFDM. Its coverage consists of principles, important wireless topics (e.g. Synchronization, channel estimation, etc.) and techniques. Included is information for advancing wireless communication in a multipath environment with an emphasis on implementation of OFDM in base stations. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing for Wireless Communications provides a comprehensive introduction of the theory and practice of OFDM. To facilitate the readers, extensive subject indices and references are given at the end of the book. Even though each chapter is written by different experts, symbols and notations in all chapters of the book are consistent.

Book The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing OFDM Introduction and explanation of five different types of techniques

Download or read book The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing OFDM Introduction and explanation of five different types of techniques written by Dr. Lokesh Chikkananjaiah and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2021-02-25 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thesis (M.A.) from the year 2019 in the subject Electrotechnology, grade: 9, , language: English, abstract: The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an important aspect of multicarrier digital data transmission system where a single data stream is transmitted into a several number of lower rates subcarrier signals. In this thesis, there are five different types of the techniques introduced to strengthen the communication quality and capacity. This kind of new standard of transmission of data is the first one to perform with OFDM in data packet based communication system. In wireless communication network, the abstraction of parallel transmission of data symbols is implemented to attain high throughput and effective transmission quality. The OFDM is a method to deal with parallel transmission.

Book THE JOSEPHSON JUNCTION AS A 100 GHz OSCILLATOR MIXER

Download or read book THE JOSEPHSON JUNCTION AS A 100 GHz OSCILLATOR MIXER written by Andrew Longacre (Jr) and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The term 'Josephson effects' refers to a number of unusual properties of current flow through a barrier or weak link between two superconductors. Such a structure--called a Josephson junction--gives rise to frequency conversion effects that suggest its use as an oscillator-mixer in the millimeter and submillimeter region. Such a device would offer high sensitivity, broad bandwidth, tunability, and, in certain modes of operation, the possibility of conversion gain. These frequency conversion effects were observed in the range of 100 GHz to 600 GHz and beyond. The junctions were driven by a 75 GHz or 25 GHz klystron while coupled either to a coaxial cavity resonant at 20 GHz or to a resonance at about 500 GHz associated with the junction structure. Lines in the junction voltage-current characteristic were observed which demonstrated that, at certain values of junction bias, power at the rf--or its harmonics--was converted to power at the resonance frequency. An explanation of the experiment is given together with the necessary background, which provides the basis for a discussion of such operational considerations as upper frequency limit, sensitivity, temperature of operation, and saturation behavior at high signal levels.
