Book Diffraction of a Skew Plane Electromagnetic Wave by an Absorbing Right Angled Wedge Classic Reprint

Download or read book Diffraction of a Skew Plane Electromagnetic Wave by an Absorbing Right Angled Wedge Classic Reprint written by Frank Karal and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-09 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Diffraction of a Skew Plane Electromagnetic Wave by an Absorbing Right-Angled Wedge Considerably more difficult due to the vectorial character of the boundary condi tions. In Section 3 the procedure in our vectorial problem is described more fully, with an explanation of how the method of separation of variables plus proper consideration of edge behavior leads to a unique solution under conditions which are physically meaningful. This book was released on 2017-04-17 with total page 824 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This self-contained book gives fundamental knowledge about scattering and diffraction of electromagnetic waves and fills the gap between general electromagnetic theory courses and collections of engineering formulas. The book is a tutorial for advanced students learning the mathematics and physics of electromagnetic scattering and curious to know how engineering concepts and techniques relate to the foundations of electromagnetics

Book Advanced Theory of Diffraction by a Semi infinite Impedance Cone

Download or read book Advanced Theory of Diffraction by a Semi infinite Impedance Cone written by J.M.L Bernard and published by ALPHA SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL LIMITED. This book was released on 2014-07-11 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mathematical problem concerning the diffraction by a semi-infinite cone with circular cross section for the Helmholtz equation, which has well-known solutions for Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions, is here considered for the more general boundary condition of constant impedance type. As previously stated by D.S. Jones, the problem then changes in complexity, beginning with the difficulty of obtaining the uniqueness of the solution. An exact analytical method is developed to reduce this problem to the determination of the solution of a well-posed non-oscillatory integral equation, of which the solution can be directly used to express the field in an integral form. Some generalization, in particular to the electromagnetic case, are also given.

Book Electromagnetic and Scalar Diffraction by a Right angled Wedge with a Uniform Surface Impedance

Download or read book Electromagnetic and Scalar Diffraction by a Right angled Wedge with a Uniform Surface Impedance written by Y. M. Hwang and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The diffraction of an electromagnetic wave by a perfectly-conducting right-angled wedge with one surface covered by a dielectric slab or absorber is considered. The effect of the coated surface is approximated by a uniform surface impedance. The solution of the normally incident electromagnetic problem is facilitated by introducing two scalar fields which satisfy a mixed boundary condition on one surface of the wedge and a Neumann of Dirichlet boundary condition on the other. A functional transformation is employed to simplify the boundary conditions so that eigenfunction expansions can be obtained for the resulting Green's functions. The eigenfunction expansions are transformed into the integral representations which then are evaluated asymptotically by the modified Pauli-Clemmow method of steepest descent. A far zone approximation is made to obtain the scattered field from which the diffraction coefficient is found for scalar plane, cylindrical or sperical wave incident on the edge. With the introduction of a ray-fixed coordinate system, the dyadic diffraction coefficient for plane or cylindrical EM waves normally indicent on the edge is reduced to the sum of two dyads which can be written alternatively as a 2 X 2 diagonal matrix.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Balanis’ second edition of Advanced Engineering Electromagnetics – a global best-seller for over 20 years – covers the advanced knowledge engineers involved in electromagnetic need to know, particularly as the topic relates to the fast-moving, continually evolving, and rapidly expanding field of wireless communications. The immense interest in wireless communications and the expected increase in wireless communications systems projects (antenna, microwave and wireless communication) points to an increase in the number of engineers needed to specialize in this field. In addition, the Instructor Book Companion Site contains a rich collection of multimedia resources for use with this text. Resources include: Ready-made lecture notes in Power Point format for all the chapters. Forty-nine MATLAB® programs to compute, plot and animate some of the wave phenomena Nearly 600 end-of-chapter problems, that's an average of 40 problems per chapter (200 new problems; 50% more than in the first edition) A thoroughly updated Solutions Manual 2500 slides for Instructors are included.
