Book Differences in Critical Thinking Among Undergraduate Senior Students Based on Academic Program

Download or read book Differences in Critical Thinking Among Undergraduate Senior Students Based on Academic Program written by Lisa Kobs and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Undergraduate college students select various academic programs for various reasons. Sometimes they will select specific academic programs that align with their career goals based on their perception of the rigor or ability to think critically in those programs. Whether different academic programs graduate students with differences in critical thinking is not well understood. The primary goal of this causal comparative study was to contribute to the available literature regarding whether differences in critical thinking do exist among undergraduate students in different academic programs. Critical thinking was evaluated using the California Critical Thinking Skills Test, a valid and reliable tool. It was administered anonymously to senior undergraduate students at a Midwestern university. No statistically significant differences were found between students in different colleges, selection or no selection of a pre-professional program, or major.
