Book Smart Nanoparticles Technology

Download or read book Smart Nanoparticles Technology written by Abbass A. Hashim and published by IntechOpen. This book was released on 2012-04-18 with total page 590 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last few years, Nanoparticles and their applications dramatically diverted science in the direction of brand new philosophy. The properties of many conventional materials changed when formed from nanoparticles. Nanoparticles have a greater surface area per weight than larger particles which causes them to be more reactive and effective than other molecules. In this book, we (InTech publisher, editor and authors) have invested a lot of effort to include 25 most advanced technology chapters. The book is organised into three well-heeled parts. We would like to invite all Nanotechnology scientists to read and share the knowledge and contents of this book.

Book Chemical Physics of Thin Film Deposition Processes for Micro and Nano Technologies

Download or read book Chemical Physics of Thin Film Deposition Processes for Micro and Nano Technologies written by Y. Pauleau and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An up-to-date collection of tutorial papers on the latest advances in the deposition and growth of thin films for micro and nano technologies. The emphasis is on fundamental aspects, principles and applications of deposition techniques used for the fabrication of micro and nano devices. The deposition of thin films is described, emphasising the gas phase and surface chemistry and its effects on the growth rates and properties of films. Gas-phase phenomena, surface chemistry, growth mechanisms and the modelling of deposition processes are thoroughly described and discussed to provide a clear understanding of the growth of thin films and microstructures via thermally activated, laser induced, photon assisted, ion beam assisted, and plasma enhanced vapour deposition processes. A handbook for engineers and scientists and an introduction for students of microelectronics.

Book Thin Films On Silicon Electronic And Photonic Applications

Download or read book Thin Films On Silicon Electronic And Photonic Applications written by Vijay Narayanan and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2016-08-15 with total page 550 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume provides a broad overview of the fundamental materials science of thin films that use silicon as an active substrate or passive template, with an emphasis on opportunities and challenges for practical applications in electronics and photonics. It covers three materials classes on silicon: Semiconductors such as undoped and doped Si and SiGe, SiC, GaN, and III-V arsenides and phosphides; dielectrics including silicon nitride and high-k, low-k, and electro-optically active oxides; and metals, in particular silicide alloys. The impact of film growth and integration on physical, electrical, and optical properties, and ultimately device performance, is highlighted.

Book Thin Films and Coatings

    Book Details:
  • Author : B. M. Caruta
  • Publisher : Nova Publishers
  • Release : 2005
  • ISBN : 9781594545177
  • Pages : 240 pages

Download or read book Thin Films and Coatings written by B. M. Caruta and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2005 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The broad field of thin film technology is based first of all on the film growth processes in general. The concepts of crystal structure and defects in crystalline thin films such as grain boundaries, dislocations and vacancies are examined. The general nature of film growth from atoms equilibrating with the service, through the initial stages of growth to film coalescence and zone models is also within the scope of this book as are evaporation, sputter deposition and chemical vapour deposition. Thin films are widely used in microelectronics, chemistry and a wide array of related fields. This book offers new research in this exploding field.

Book Polymer Composites

Download or read book Polymer Composites written by Klaus Friedrich and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-07-22 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of polymer composites in various engineering applications has become state of the art. This multi-author volume provides a useful summary of updated knowledge on polymer composites in general, practically integrating experimental studies, theoretical analyses and computational modeling at different scales, i. e. , from nano- to macroscale. Detailed consideration is given to four major areas: structure and properties of polymer nanocomposites, characterization and modeling, processing and application of macrocomposites, and mechanical performance of macrocomposites. The idea to organize this volume arose from a very impressive workshop - The First International Workshop on Polymers and Composites at IVW Kaiserslautern: Invited Humboldt-Fellows and Distinguished Scientists, which was held on May 22-24,2003 at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. The contributing authors were invited to incorporate updated knowledge and developments into their individual chapters within a year after the workshop, which finally led to these excellent contributions. The success of this workshop was mainly sponsored by the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation through a Sofia Kovalevskaja Award Program, financed by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research within the "Investment in the Future Program" of the German Government. In 2001, the Humboldt Foundation launched this new award program in order to offer outstanding young researchers throughout the world an opportunity to establish their own work-groups and to develop innovative research concepts virtually in Germany. One of the editors, Z.

Book Amorphous and Crystalline Insulating Thin Films 1996 Volume 446

Download or read book Amorphous and Crystalline Insulating Thin Films 1996 Volume 446 written by William L. Warren and published by . This book was released on 1997-06-30 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the continuing research and development of thin-dielectric films for optical and microelectronic applications. Although thermal SiO2 has been the dominant dielectric for thin films in microelectronic applications for many years, there is a growing need for low-dielectric constant materials for interlevel dielectrics (less capacitive cross-talk and reduced delay) and high-dielectric constant materials to minimize the space and maximize the capacitance of storage devices such as DRAMs. With the demands put forth by the microelectronics community, this field is expected to develop significantly in the near future. Also featured is the growing area involving the structure and characteriza-tion of buried a-SiO2 layers formed by O+ ion implantation or the Smart Cut Unibond® process. These techniques are evolving into viable methods for producing commercial silicon-on-insulator substrates for device applications requiring radiation hardness, high-speed and low-power performance, and high-temperature operation.
