Download or read book Diagnostic et mise en place d un syst me de traitement des lixiviats written by Florian Masquelin and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2021 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Biotransformation of Waste Biomass into High Value Biochemicals

Download or read book Biotransformation of Waste Biomass into High Value Biochemicals written by Satinder Kaur Brar and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-09-24 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agro-industrial wastes are end-products emerging after industrial processing operations and also from their treatment and disposal e.g. solid fruit wastes and sludge. The agro-industrial wastes are often present in multiphase and comprise multicomponent. Nevertheless, these wastes are a goldmine as they possess valuable organic matter which can be diverted towards high value products ranging from polymers to antibiotics to platform chemicals. There have been plenty of books published on bioenergy, enzymes and organic acids, among others. However, this emerging field of biochemical has not yet been covered so far which is an important entity of the biorefinery model from waste biomass and needs to be understood from fundamental, applied as well as commercial perspective which has been laid out in this book.

Book Emulsion Science

Download or read book Emulsion Science written by Jerôme Bibette and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-07-01 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Emulsions occur either as end products or during the processing of products in a huge range of areas including the food, agrochemical, pharmaceuticals, paints and oil industries. As end products, emulsions allow to avoid organic solvent in processing hydrophobic coatings. Emulsion technology is a suitable approach to vehicle viscous phases. It is also a remarkable mean of targeting actives or capturing specific species. The range of applications of emulsions progresses and their manufacturing becomes more and more sophisticated. Besides this broad domain of technological interest, emulsions are raising a variety of fundamental questions at the frontier between physic and chem istry. Indeed, as a class of soft colloidal materials, emulsions science is linked to various aspects of these disciplines: phase transitions, surface forces and wetting, metastability and hydrodynamic instabilities, mechanical properties and flow. The aim of this book is to review the main important concepts governing emulsion science. In Chapter 2, repulsive interactions between liquid films are discussed as well as adhesive interaction related to wetting. In Chap ter 3, consequences of weak and strong attractions are presented, related to the well accepted liquid solid transition analogy. In Chapter 4, the basics of both bulk compressibility and shear elasticity are presented, the role of disorder being the most important aspect of the elastic behavior of these soft systems. In Chapter 5 the central question of the emulsion lifetime related to metastability is discussed.

Book Biocontrol

Download or read book Biocontrol written by Satinder Kaur Brar and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agricultural and forest pests lead to many plant diseases resulting in poor yield and productivity. Traditionally, chemical pesticides have been used to control these pests. However, the adverse health impacts of chemical pesticides have triggered parallel research in safe biological options. Nevertheless, biocontrol has come a long way ever since the commercialisation of the first Bacillus thuringiensis based biopesticide (sporeine) in the 1940s, however, still there are research gaps. New knowledge and practical experiences have been added over the last few decades. This book reviews research on biological control agents, including bacterial, fungal and viral biopesticides along with their advanced formulation options.

Book Enhanced Abutment Scour Studies for Compound Channels

Download or read book Enhanced Abutment Scour Studies for Compound Channels written by Terry W. Sturm and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 2004 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Experimental results and analyses are given in this report on bridge abutment scour in compound channels. Experiments were conducted in a laboratory flume with a cross section consisting of a wide floodplain adjacent to a main channel. The embankment length, discharge, sediment size, and abutment shape were varied, and the resulting equilibrium scour depths were measured. Water-surface profiles, velocities, and scour-hole contours were also measured. In the report, a methodology is developed for estimating abutment scour that takes into account the redistribution of discharge in the bridge contraction, abutment shape, sediment size, and tailwater depth. The independant variables in the proposed scour formula are evaluated at the approach-channel cross section and can be obtained froma one-dimensional water-surface profile computer program such as the Water-Surface Profile Program (WSPRO). The proposed scour evaluation procedure is outlined and illustrated, including consideration of the time required to reach equilibrium scour. The proposed methodology is applied to two cases of measured scour in the field.
