Book DIAGNOSTICO AMBIENTAL DE ECOSISTEMAS HUMANOS

Download or read book DIAGNOSTICO AMBIENTAL DE ECOSISTEMAS HUMANOS written by Alberto Paparelli and published by Nobuko. This book was released on 2021-08-12 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book La contabilidad financiera ambiental

Download or read book La contabilidad financiera ambiental written by Arístides Pelegrín Mesa, María Luz Ortíz Paniagua and published by Editorial Universitaria | Libros UDG. This book was released on 2014-04-28 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Gulf of Mexico Origin Waters and Biota

Download or read book Gulf of Mexico Origin Waters and Biota written by James C. Cato and published by Texas A&M University Press. This book was released on 2008-12-07 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The many economic factors affecting sustainability of the Gulf of Mexico region are perhaps as important as the waves on its shores and its abundant marine life. This second volume in Gulf of Mexico Origin, Waters, and Biota (a multivolumed work edited by John W. Tunnell Jr., Darryl L. Felder, and Sylvia A. Earle) assesses the Gulf of Mexico as a single economic region. The book provides information and baseline data useful for assessing the goals of economic and environmental sustainability in the Gulf. In five chapters, economists, political scientists, and ecologists from Florida, California, Louisiana, Texas, Maine, and Mexico cover topics such as: the idea of the Gulf as a transnational community; the quantitative value of its productivity; a summary of the industries dependent on the Gulf, including shipping, tourism, oil and gas mining, fisheries, recreation, and real estate; the human uses and activities that affect coastal economies; and the economic trends evident in Mexico's drive toward coastal development. This first-of-its-kind reference work will be useful to scientists, economists, industry leaders, and policy makers whose work requires an understanding of the economic issues involved in science, business, trade, exploration, development, and commerce in the Gulf of Mexico.

Book The World Guide to CSR

Download or read book The World Guide to CSR written by Wayne Visser and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-08 with total page 488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The World Guide to CSR is the first book to provide comparable national profiles that describe the evolution and practice of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) for 58 countries and 5 global regions. Each regional and national profile includes key information about the relevant CSR history, country-specific issues, trends, research and leading organizations. The purpose of the book is to give CSR professionals (including managers, consultants, academics and NGOs focusing on the social, environmental and ethical responsibilities of business) a quick reference guide to CSR in different regional and national contexts. The need for the book is premised on the fact that CSR professionals and researchers more often than not have a multinational remit and are required to benchmark performance internationally, but find that country-specific CSR information is ad hoc, limited or non-existent. Even where national CSR research exists, it is often hidden in academic journals that practitioners cannot access or do not have the time or inclination to read. The book is an edited volume, with expert contributors from around the world, all of whom have been screened and selected on the basis of their qualifications and experience in CSR. Each regional/country profile includes the following subsections:CSR in context Priority issues Trends Legislation and codes Organizations Case studies Educational institutions References This unique resource will be an essential acquisition for all organisations who need to benchmark their CSR strategies throughout different regions and cultures and want the best possible intelligence on the key issues and concerns relating to corporate social responsibility in all of the markets in which they operate.

Book From farm to table Agrifood systems and trade challenges in the Southern Cone

Download or read book From farm to table Agrifood systems and trade challenges in the Southern Cone written by Piñeiro, Valeria and published by Intl Food Policy Res Inst. This book was released on 2023-12-11 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Food production includes a complex and varied set of agricultural and nonagricultural activities, involving a growing number of sectors and actors that influence the way food is produced, processed, distributed, and consumed. Recently, and especially after the 2021 United Nation Food Systems Summit (UNFSS), it has been proposed that this conglomerate of activities and socioeconomic actors be jointly identified as food systems. National food systems, which exist in each country, are interrelated through trade and other factors with regional food systems and finally with the global food system. The concept of food systems has been adopted as a useful tool for understanding the multiple and complex interrelations between different production, distribution, and trade partners and for adjusting policy analysis and design to this complex world. The discussions and documentation prepared during the UNFSS process brought to public attention not only the utility and complexity of this concept but also some of the shortcomings of current food production practices. The summit also highlighted an urgent need to establish processes for identifying such shortcomings, their relative importance, and possible measures that would lead to the transformation of national food systems and the global food system.

Book Coastal Marine Ecosystems of Latin America

Download or read book Coastal Marine Ecosystems of Latin America written by U. Seeliger and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coastal and marine ecosystems, some severely degraded, other still pristine, control rich resources of inshore environments and coastal seas of Latin America's Pacific and Atlantic margins. Conflicts between the needs of the region's nations and diminishing revenues and environmental quality have induced awareness of coastal ecological problems and motivated financial support for restoration and management. The volume provides a competent review on the structure, processes and function of 22 important Latin American coastal marine ecosystems. Each contribution describes the environmental settings, biotic components and structure of the system, considers trophic processes and energy flow, evaluates the modifying influence of natural and human perturbations, and suggests management needs. Although the focus of the book is on basic ecological research, the results have application for coastal managers.
