Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It’s tempting to think that we live in an unprecedentedly fertile age for conspiracy theories, with seemingly each churn of the news cycle bringing fresh manifestations of large-scale paranoia. But the sad fact is that these narratives of suspicion—and the delusional psychologies that fuel them—have been a constant presence in American life for nearly as long as there’s been an America. In this sweeping book, Thomas Milan Konda traces the country’s obsession with conspiratorial thought from the early days of the republic to our own anxious moment. Conspiracies of Conspiracies details centuries of sinister speculations—from antisemitism and anti-Catholicism to UFOs and reptilian humanoids—and their often incendiary outcomes. Rather than simply rehashing the surface eccentricities of such theories, Konda draws from his unprecedented assemblage of conspiratorial writing to crack open the mindsets that lead people toward these self-sealing worlds of denial. What is distinctively American about these theories, he argues, is not simply our country’s homegrown obsession with them but their ongoing prevalence and virulence. Konda proves that conspiracy theories are no harmless sideshow. They are instead the dark and secret heart of American political history—one that is poisoning the bloodstream of an increasingly sick body politic.

Book God s Answer to Man s Doubts

Download or read book God s Answer to Man s Doubts written by William Ward Ayer and published by Solid Christian Books. This book was released on 2017-05-26 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ours is a scientific age – a skeptical age – an age of questions. Men are bewildered, perplexed, and they can find no abiding peace. The world about them but reflects the chaos in their own hearts. We are living in an era of doubt. The author of this stimulating volume has watched men battling doubts, and in this book he shouts triumphantly, "God has the answer!” Author Ayer goes to the only source of stability in our scientific age – the Bible – and gives us Scripture’s reassuringly concrete answers to all man’s questions, doubts and perplexities. Speaking earnestly to both the saved and the unsaved, the author tells us not to listen to the strange voices in the world, the false words of man’s superficial wisdom, but to hear eagerly the true and faithful words that satisfy forever – the answer of God.

Book Not Just Bird Food

Download or read book Not Just Bird Food written by Andrew Jay Heavner and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-10-27 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Included in these “pages” are quips and some of mans greatest conundrums explained in plain English. Such as “Man made a monkey out of himself but God did not create him that way.” These short and even the longer combined “Tweets”, sometimes a paragraph, are statements of Gods true Creation science. Having the subject of Creation science understood, and God’s general revelation to mankind through His creation, then one can truly aspire to self help. There are also short stories (very short micro stories even), celebrities of Christianity quoted, and the true historical account of The Holy Bible KJV. I drew upon my learning first under William Massey at Frontenac, whom was more of a hell fire and brimstone preacher which I and we all need to fear The Lord Jesus not just Him as The Savior but to ADMIT to our SIN, CONFESS ALL sin publicly to be held accountable and Jesus forgives past, present, and future so you cannot lose your salvation. If satan reminds you of your past remind him of his future. Then REPENT, turn from sin, run from evil don’t walk so Jesus can FORGIVE and justify you with His finished work on the cross of Calvary for humanity. Afterward, we are sanctified (Luke 2:52) into the fullness of Christ Jesus of Nazareth. Then Malcolm Wild continued the edification work at Calvary Chapel Merritt Island. They both helped me grow as Luke 2:52 says, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” I acknowledge the supreme importance of learning The Word of God The Holy Bible KVJ and putting it into practice (James 1:22) because It is inspired, infallible, inerrant, eternal nature and blessing upon mankind as God gave us directions in it’s map of Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (BIBLE). It is The only Thing we can take with us that will last forever! To those who don’t know The Word of God The Holy Bible KJV I would have to say “Do you own a Bible KJV, read The Bible KJV, study The Bible KJV, and know It, KJV? Is The KJV The ultimate Authority? If not why not? How can you judge something you don’t own, read, study, or understand? What do you really believe and are willing to stake your life upon???

This book was released on 2016-04-13 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past 300 years, scientific breakthroughs have forced Christians to reexamine time-honored creation doctrines. In light of new information, important questions demand thoughtful answers. Can we rectify the geological record with biblical timelines? Where do dinosaurs fit in? And if God created Adam and Eve in his likeness, is evolution a viable theory? Authors Dr. William I. Cooper, MD, and Gerald W. Lunt, BA, explain it all in their new book, The Theory of Devilution. When God created the universe through the Big Bang, his exiled angel, Satan, found a new home on Earth-where flora, fauna, and hominids evolved over eons of Satan's rule. In his second creation act, the omniscient and perfect God expunged Satan's world in the first great flood. The devil's people perished to make room for Adam and Eve, the pinnacle of evolution. This second major creative act set biblical events into motion, eventually leading to God's ultimate gift: his son, and our savior, Jesus Christ. Gap creationism marries theology and science through not one, but two, major creative acts of God. And The Theory of Devilution puts a fresh spin on classic gap theory by illuminating Satan's very real role in human history.

Book Teaching Sex

  • Author : Jeffrey P. Moran
  • Publisher : Harvard University Press
  • Release : 2002-10-15
  • ISBN : 0674041216

Download or read book Teaching Sex written by Jeffrey P. Moran and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2002-10-15 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sex education, since its advent at the dawn of the twentieth century, has provoked the hopes and fears of generations of parents, educators, politicians, and reformers. On its success or failure seems to hinge the moral fate of the nation and its future citizens. But whether we argue over condom distribution to teenagers or the use of an anti-abortion curriculum in high schools, we rarely question the basic premise--that adolescents need to be educated about sex. How did we come to expect the public schools to manage our children's sexuality? More important, what is it about the adolescent that arouses so much anxiety among adults? Teaching Sex travels back over the past century to trace the emergence of the sexual adolescent and the evolution of the schools' efforts to teach sex to this captive pupil. Jeffrey Moran takes us on a fascinating ride through America's sexual mores: from a time when young men were warned about the crippling effects of masturbation, to the belief that schools could and should train adolescents in proper courtship and parenting techniques, to the reemergence of sexual abstention brought by the AIDS crisis. We see how the political and moral anxieties of each era found their way into sex education curricula, reflecting the priorities of the elders more than the concerns of the young. Moran illuminates the aspirations and limits of sex education and the ability of public authority to shape private behavior. More than a critique of public health policy, Teaching Sex is a broad cultural inquiry into America's understanding of adolescence, sexual morality, and social reform.
