Book excerpt: The Crisis:Best-selling author and visionary scientist Gregg Braden suggests that the hottest topics that divide us as families, cultures, and nations-seemingly disparate issues such as war, terrorism, abortion, genocide, poverty, economic collapse, climate change, and nuclear threats-are actually related. They all stem from a worldview based upon the false assumptions of an incomplete science. The History:The obsolete beliefs of our modern worldview have brought us to the brink of disaster and the loss of all that we cherish as a civilization. Our reluctance to accept new discoveries about our relationship to the earth, one another, and our ancient past keeps us locked into the thinking that has led to the crises threatening our lives today. The Facts:The scientific method allows for, and expects, new information to be revealed and assimilated into our existing beliefs. It's the updating of scientific knowledge with the new facts from new discoveries that is the key to keeping science honest, current, and meaningful. To continue teaching science that is not supported by the new discoveries-ones based upon accepted scientific methods-is not, in fact, scientific. But this is precisely what we see happening in traditional textbooks, classrooms, and mainstream media today. The Opportunity:Explore for yourself the discoveries that change 150 years of scientific beliefs, yet are still not reflected in mainstream thinking, including:• Evidence of advanced, near-ice age civilizations• The origin of, and reasons for, war in our ancient past, and why it may become obsolete in our time• The false assumptions of human evolution and of the Darwinian theory "Let the strongest live and the weakest die" and how this plays out in corporations, societies, warfare, and civilization todayDeep Truth reveals new discoveries that change the way we think about everything from our personal relationships to civilization itself. When the facts become clear, our choices become obvious.

Download or read book Struth The Bloody Truth written by Iarn Pernell and published by eBook Partnership. This book was released on 2018-05-17 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes how we've all been living according to a reality that exists only in our own mind's creation of what we believe to be reality. It explains how the church has manipulated the purely natural human emotion of fear to instill a belief in their god. Just as each different religion has their god as the only true god, so too does every individual. "e;Astrology"e; is a word used to describe the energies that permeate life on Earth and, as once believed by now-ancient civilizations that were overtaken and nearly destroyed by religion, is the energy responsible for everything that manifests in life and, in fact, life itself. For too long now, man has lived under the fear of damnation in hell as a result of living against the word of the church's god, which is only a creation of the church in order to preside over the minds of the masses for their own benefit. Great monuments and rituals have been created by the church to give their god relevance and impress mankind to believe in a myth that exists solely for the purpose of gaining power over our mind and actions. The French and Spanish Inquisitions are but one example of the total control the church almost achieved. But truth cannot be changed, for to do so is to manipulate the truth for your own selfish purposes. Religion is in a constant state of change because religion is only a manipulation of philosophy. Astrology has never changed over the hundreds of thousands of years that man has been observing the movements of the stars. We are all only energy, just as is the light given from the stars and energy responds to energy. Thus, we are all subject to a greater energy than our ego permits us to believe.

Book Fate and Destiny

Download or read book Fate and Destiny written by Michael Meade and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Drawing on the experiences of his life, traditional wisdom stories, poetic and metaphoric language, etymology, and his personal brand of scholarship, Michael Meade leads us to an undeniable truth: that the only story we came here to live is our own. Often called "an instant classic," in this newly revised and expanded edition of Fate and Destiny, Meade has taken his original message of the uniqueness of each life to new levels of meaning and inspiration. By elaborating key themes and polishing the gems of wisdom, Meade gives us an even more powerful opportunity to change ourselves and the world. Meade shows how the limitations of family and fate form the inner threads from which our individual destiny must emerge. He explains how our wounds can become doorways to our deepest gifts and how our greatest obstacles are intended to lead us to a treasure divinely seeded within us before birth. Amidst the current turmoil of the world, Fate and Destiny speaks directly to young people seeking to find a genuine path in life and trying to awaken to the dream they carry inside. At the same time, stories of the elders help older people find new ways to value their lives and touch the threads of their own destiny. Fate and Destiny offers everyone penetrating insights for those caught in life's inevitable struggles and shows the wisdom of elders depends upon remembering the spirit of eternal youth. -- Provided by publisher.

Book The Illusion of Will Self and Time

Download or read book The Illusion of Will Self and Time written by Jonathan Bricklin and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2015-06-01 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Seminary Co-op Notable Book of 2016 William James is often considered a scientist compromised by his advocacy of mysticism and parapsychology. Jonathan Bricklin argues James can also be viewed as a mystic compromised by his commitment to common sense. James wanted to believe in will, self, and time, but his deepest insights suggested otherwise. "Is consciousness already there waiting to be uncovered and is it a veridical revelation of reality?" James asked shortly before his death in 1910. A century after his death, research from neuroscience, physics, psychology, and parapsychology is making the case, both theoretically and experimentally, that answers James's question in the affirmative. By separating what James passionately wanted to believe, based on common sense, from what his insights and researches led him to believe, Bricklin shows how James himself laid the groundwork for this more challenging view of existence. The non-reality of will, self, and time is consistent with James's psychology of volition, his epistemology of self, and his belief that Newtonian, objective, even-flowing time does not exist.

Book excerpt: Many of us go through life never realizing that a line of difference stands between Destiny and Fate and because we do not acknowledge this difference we forget to live and resort to merely existing. We walk, and look up and down, right and left but we never look within as we pretend that we do not hurt, we do not doubt, we do not get depressed or loose hope and because we deny the truth we refuse to believe that we can win. This is the story of Destiny: her ups and downs and Fates' unpredictable hand. A story where truth is questioned, failure is prosecuted, and Destiny is allowed to judge. Throughout this book you are carried through many phases of growth both mentally and emotionally (through the use of poetry, philosophy and pros) and are allowed to experience what it means to look life in the eye and say "You belong to me now". It's about a struggle, a struggle we all experience as we try to get to where ever it is we wish to go in life.

Book The Pillar and Ground of the Truth

Download or read book The Pillar and Ground of the Truth written by Pavel Florensky and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2018-06-05 with total page 620 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pavel Florensky--certainly the greatest Russian theologian of the last century--is now recognized as one of Russia's greatest polymaths. Known as the Russian Leonardo da Vinci, he became a Russian Orthodox priest in 1911, while remaining deeply involved with the cultural, artistic, and scientific developments of his time. Arrested briefly by the Soviets in 1928, he returned to his scholarly activities until 1933, when he was sentenced to ten years of corrective labor in Siberia. There he continued his scientific work and ministered to his fellow prisoners until his death four years later. This volume is the first English translation of his rich and fascinating defense of Russian Orthodox theology. Originally published in 1914, the book is a series of twelve letters to a "brother" or "friend," who may be understood symbolically as Christ. Central to Florensky's work is an exploration of the various meanings of Christian love, which is viewed as a combination of philia (friendship) and agape (universal love). Florensky is perhaps the first modern writer to explore the so-called "same-sex unions," which, for him, are not sexual in nature. He describes the ancient Christian rites of the adelphopoiesis (brother-making), joining male friends in chaste bonds of love. In addition, Florensky is one of the first thinkers in the twentieth century to develop the idea of the Divine Sophia, who has become one of the central concerns of feminist theologians.
