Design generation of the test rig is portrayed and three dimensional view as well as orthographic view was done using Solidworks software. The needed fabrication process is briefly described and the main material used in this project is aluminium and mild steel. Process like cutting, drilling, grinding, tapping and etc is needed to fabricate the test rig. Some methods of improvement for the combination of test rig are also provided for further improvement of the test rig. Finally the test rig can experiment to test the coordinate coupling theory of vibration.

Book Structural Vibration

Download or read book Structural Vibration written by C. Beards and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1996-05-31 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many structures suffer from unwanted vibrations and, although careful analysis at the design stage can minimise these, the vibration levels of many structures are excessive. In this book the entire range of methods of control, both by damping and by excitation, is described in a single volume.Clear and concise descriptions are given of the techniques for mathematically modelling real structures so that the equations which describe the motion of such structures can be derived. This approach leads to a comprehensive discussion of the analysis of typical models of vibrating structures excited by a range of periodic and random inputs. Careful consideration is also given to the sources of excitation, both internal and external, and the effects of isolation and transmissability. A major part of the book is devoted to damping of structures and many sources of damping are considered, as are the ways of changing damping using both active and passive methods. The numerous worked examples liberally distributed throughout the text, amplify and clarify the theoretical analysis presented. Particular attention is paid to the meaning and interpretation of results, further enhancing the scope and applications of analysis. Over 80 problems are included with answers and worked solutions to most. This book provides engineering students, designers and professional engineers with a detailed insight into the principles involved in the analysis and damping of structural vibration while presenting a sound theoretical basis for further study.Suitable for students of engineering to first degree level and for designers and practising engineersNumerous worked examplesClear and easy to follow

Book Applied Structural and Mechanical Vibrations

Download or read book Applied Structural and Mechanical Vibrations written by Paolo L. Gatti and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-02-24 with total page 670 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of Applied Structural and Mechanical Vibrations: Theory and Methods continues the first edition’s dual focus on the mathematical theory and the practical aspects of engineering vibrations measurement and analysis. This book emphasises the physical concepts, brings together theory and practice, and includes a number of worked-out examples of varying difficulty and an extensive list of references. What’s New in the Second Edition: Adds new material on response spectra Includes revised chapters on modal analysis and on probability and statistics Introduces new material on stochastic processes and random vibrations The book explores the theory and methods of engineering vibrations. By also addressing the measurement and analysis of vibrations in real-world applications, it provides and explains the fundamental concepts that form the common background of disciplines such as structural dynamics, mechanical, aerospace, automotive, earthquake, and civil engineering. Applied Structural and Mechanical Vibrations: Theory and Methods presents the material in order of increasing complexity. It introduces the simplest physical systems capable of vibratory motion in the fundamental chapters, and then moves on to a detailed study of the free and forced vibration response of more complex systems. It also explains some of the most important approximate methods and experimental techniques used to model and analyze these systems. With respect to the first edition, all the material has been revised and updated, making it a superb reference for advanced students and professionals working in the field.
