Garantizando que el mismo sea de la total satisfacción del paciente así como del personal involucrado, ubicar el costo del servicio en un monto razonable y sobre todo lograr excelentes resultados de calidad. La implementación de lean en el sector salud ha sido un reto, especialmente al considerar las necesidades y seguridad del paciente. Cada vez la implementación de lean en el sector salud va causando más popularidad en la búsqueda del logro de objetivos diversos que van desde la optimización de costos hasta el logro de brindar un servicio de calidad al paciente y a todos los involucrados en el proceso de atención. Este trabajo investiga modelos existentes en donde se implementó lean en instituciones internacionales con el objetivo de crear un modelo nuevo que permita a los hospitales basarse para obtener una introducción al término lean en el sector salud, comenzar a implementarlo y obtener las mejoras. Lo anterior, haciendo énfasis en el importante papel que juega el líder y el cambio de cultura en la organización a ser implementado para lograr resultados exitosos. Por último, se muestran casos de éxito que describen cómo es que implementaron lean en diferentes departamentos de instituciones de salud que servirá como comparación y justificación del modelo que se va a proponer. The epidemiologic and economic analyses in the first part of the book suggest that policy-makers should make chronic disease a priority. This book highlights the issues and focuses on the strategies and interventions that policy-makers have at their disposal to tackle this increasing challenge. Strategic discussed in the second part of this volume include (1) prevention and early detection, (2) new provider qualifications (e.g. nurse practitioners) and settings, (3) disease management programmes and (4) integrated care models. But choosing the right strategies will be difficult, particularly given the limited evidence on effectiveness and cost-effectiveness. At the same time, the same arguments often burst out again and again, almost verbatim. Turf battles continue for extended periods without resolution. People nod their heads in agreement in meetings, and then rush out of the room to voice complaints to sympathetic ears in private. Worst of all, when people are asked if things will ever change, they throw up their hands in despair. They feel like victims trapped in an asylum. And people often are trapped. But they are not trapped by some oppressive regime or organizational structure that has been imposed on them. They are not victims. In fact, people themselves are responsible for making the status quo so resistant to change. We are trapped by our own behavior. Researchers and practitioners have often reflected on these things, but there is a puzzle. On the one hand, there is substantial agreement that these traps are counterproductive to effective performance. On the other hand, there is almost no focus on how organizational traps can be prevented or reduced. This book argues that whatever theory is used to describe and understand such organizational traps should be used to design and implement interventions that reduce and prevent them. Requirements for detecting bad data differ across communities, fields, and tasks, but nearly all involve some form of data validation. This book introduces data validation and describes its practical use in day-to-day data exchange. The Semantic Web offers a bold, new take on how to organize, distribute, index, and share data. Using Web addresses (URIs) as identifiers for data elements enables the construction of distributed databases on a global scale. Like the Web, the Semantic Web is heralded as an information revolution, and also like the Web, it is encumbered by data quality issues. The quality of Semantic Web data is compromised by the lack of resources for data curation, for maintenance, and for developing globally applicable data models. At the enterprise scale, these problems have conventional solutions. Master data management provides an enterprise-wide vocabulary, while constraint languages capture and enforce data structures. Filling a need long recognized by Semantic Web users, shapes languages provide models and vocabularies for expressing such structural constraints. This book describes two technologies for RDF validation: Shape Expressions (ShEx) and Shapes Constraint Language (SHACL), the rationales for their designs, a comparison of the two, and some example applications.
