I sobbed. Reah? Reah, are you still there? You be respectful, Vice-Director, the next time a friend's bones lie beneath your hand. I cut off the communication. Lendill didn't try again.

Book Demonology Revealed to Christians

Download or read book Demonology Revealed to Christians written by George Munson and published by . This book was released on 2019-02-27 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book titled, "Demonology Revealed to Christians," by George J. Munson, was all taken from scripture and inspired by the Holy Spirit. In it you will see how Satan finds his way into people's lives, and does it so subtly that most people won't even realize it until it's too late. You will also learn how to fight him off through prayer, and the use of God's word in spiritual warfare. There are so many ways that the enemy of our soul can attack us, but by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the born-again believer's life, we can be made aware of it, and be more than conquerors. John 10:10 says, Jesus said, The thief (Satan) comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I (Jesus) came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly. Remember, the abundant life comes only to those that are willing to live the holy life. The devil, on the other hand, will always try to steal it away from you. Keep your relationship close to God, resist sin and the devil fervently, and you will always be the highly-blessed winner.Blessed are all who read and learn from the pages in this book.

Book Demonology for the Global Church

Download or read book Demonology for the Global Church written by Scott D. MacDonald and published by Langham Global Library. This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Christians, how do we address the contentious and often disturbing subject of demonology? Our cultural paradigms pit us between the extremes of skepticism and sensationalism. Increasingly diverse Christian communities are in desperate need of a biblical understanding of the demonic that transcends cultural frameworks – an understanding that will challenge assumptions, rebuke errors, and unite Christians in scriptural truth. Demonology for the Global Church endeavors to provide the biblical and theological essentials for a unified Christian perspective of the demonic. Avoiding speculation and anecdotal evidence, Scott D. MacDonald roots his analysis in Scripture. He frames a biblical demonology in light of global and contextual concerns, offering an understanding that avoids the pitfalls of anti-supernaturalism and over emphasis. If the church is to effectively overcome its spiritual adversaries, Christians from around the world must stand and resist together. This is an essential resource for the global church, relevant to students of theology, institutional scholars, cross-cultural missionaries, local pastors, and all types of Christian leaders.

Book Silencing Satan 13 Studies for Individuals and Groups

Download or read book Silencing Satan 13 Studies for Individuals and Groups written by Sharon Beekmann and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-02-12 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 13 lessons of this study guide help Christians develop an informed faith about supernatural evil and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each lesson refers the reader to significant teachings in Silencing Satan: Handbook of Biblical Demonology. In the book, the authors teach about the nature and strategies of Satan and the demons, and their defeat through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They advocate resisting the devil in his various guises--apparitions, voices, sensations, false doctrine, and immoral temptations--by reflexively turning to Jesus Christ and Scripture. The authors expose the half-truths and lies propagated by popular culture. They caution not to fill in gaps of understanding with extra-biblical sources. Does the study of Satan and the demons increase fear or give him too much attention? In fact, when presented from a biblical perspective, such knowledge can increase faith in Jesus Christ and enable Christians to effectively serve God and his church. Believers are challenged to live a radical life of faith, expressed through love and obedience to Christ. Seminarians, pastors, Bible teachers, Christian counselors, and lay leaders will find this study useful in individual and small group situations. A leaders' guide is available in the appendix.

Book excerpt: A compendium celebrating the art of hell and its minions Pandemonium: The Illustrated History of Demonology presents—for the first time—Satan’s family tree, providing a history and analysis of his fellow fallen angels from Asmodeus to Ziminiar. Throughout the book, there are short entries on individual demons, but Pandemonium is more than just a visual encyclopedia. It also focuses on the influence of figures like Beelzebub, Azazel, Lilith, and Moloch on Western religion, literature, and art. Ranging from the earliest scriptural references to demons through the contemporary era, when the devils took on a subtler form, Pandemonium functions as a compendium of Lucifer’s subjects, from Dante’s The Divine Comedy to John Milton’s Paradise Lost, and all the points in between. Containing rarely seen illustrations of very old treatises on demonology, as well as more well-known works by the great masters of Western painting, this book celebrates the art of hell like never before.

Book The Plans of Our Enemy Have Been Revealed

Download or read book The Plans of Our Enemy Have Been Revealed written by Stephen Haastrup and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2010-06-10 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are in a battlefield; it doesnt matter if you are born again or not. As long as Satan exists, there will always be a struggle for the souls of mankind to be lost. Satan is trying very hard to hide himself, his demons, and his tactics from the saints of God and also from the world. Please be aware that this is not a study of demonology or another book that concentrates on demons. This is a book that helps you to realize some aspect of your work with God, first as a believer, minister, pastor, bishop, and worker in the household of God. As time goes on, we shall see the areas that the devil is making sure we do not pay close attention to. We shall be looking closely at the tactics of the enemy and also the tactics that God wants us to use in fighting against wicked spirits, principalities of powers, and all other things that fight against righteousness. This book also looks into leadership, money, debt, and relationships. These are areas that the devil is attacking.

Book excerpt: Witches, ghosts, fairies. Premodern Europe was filled with strange creatures, with the devil lurking behind them all. But were his powers real? Did his powers have limits? Or were tales of the demonic all one grand illusion? Physicians, lawyers, and theologians at different times and places answered these questions differently and disagreed bitterly. The demonic took many forms in medieval and early modern Europe. By examining individual authors from across the continent, this book reveals the many purposes to which the devil could be put, both during the late medieval fight against heresy and during the age of Reformations. It explores what it was like to live with demons, and how careers and identities were constructed out of battles against them – or against those who granted them too much power. Together, contributors chart the history of the devil from his emergence during the 1300s as a threatening figure – who made pacts with human allies and appeared bodily – through to the comprehensive but controversial demonologies of the turn of the seventeenth century, when European witch-hunting entered its deadliest phase. This book is essential reading for all students and researchers of the history of the supernatural in medieval and early modern Europe.

Book The Devil Demonology and Witchcraft

Download or read book The Devil Demonology and Witchcraft written by H.A. Kelly and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2004-01-30 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Belief in the devil and other evil spirits of the Christian tradition is a topic that has been widely discussed in recent years. Since the release of movies such as 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'The Exorcist', more people are wondering, Is Satan really dead? Is there such a phenomenon as obsession or possession? In 'The Devil, Demonology, and Witchcraft', Henry Ansgar Kelly postulates his belief that the existence of evil spirits is not probable and suggests that Christians would be better off acting on the assumption that they do not exist. To prove his claim, the author sets forth a history and analysis of the impact of demonological traditions developed within Judaism and Christianity over the centuries. He then considers the incorporation of these notions into early Christian teaching with the resulting demonological dotrines of witchcraft, possession, and temptation. Kelly's conclusion is that Satan is dead, and demonology should be eliminated from Christian dogma since, according to his thesis, these manifestations in the Bible reflect the beliefs of local cultures and not divine revelation. The present edition has been substantially revised and updated by the author to include an evaluation and critique of 'The Exorcist', wherein Kelly challenges William Peter Blatty's facts of the alleged possession in 1949 on which 'The Exorcist' is based.
