Book The Market for U S Soybeans and Soybean Meal in Eastern Europe Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Market for U S Soybeans and Soybean Meal in Eastern Europe Classic Reprint written by Calvin C. Spilsbury and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-19 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Market for U. S. Soybeans and Soybean Meal in Eastern Europe The Eastern European countries covered herein include Bulgaria, czechoslovakia; -east Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Yugoslavia. Soybeans and soybean products are among the small number of u.s. Agricultural products that are now moving to these countries under developing dollar trade terms. This is because soybean meal has become a highly desired ingredient in the feeds used in their expanding poultry, hog, and other livestock industries. The acknowledged high quality of u.s. Soybean meal and the excellent results achieved with it point to the enlargement of the East European market simultaneously with the further development of these industries. If present trade conditions prevail, these countries could more than double their current imports of u.s. Soybeans and products in the next 5 years. Trade barriers are not a problem in this trade because the government import monopolies in East Europe are quite anxious to buy u.s. Soybean meal and soybeans. While import licenses are necessary in most of these countries, the government monopolies secure their own licenses. The necessary foreign exchange also is provided for because the imports are made in accordance with government plans. Nevertheless, availability of foreign exchange, which is limited and controlled, is often a problem, particularly this year in Czechoslovakia. To Eastern Europe's growing soybean and soybean meal market (excluding East Germany) the United States shipped the equivalent of metric tons of meal and beans, in terms of soybeans, in 1969; this was four times the average amount shipped in the 1960 - 64 period. Actual shipments were metric tons of meal and tons of beans; in terms of meal, the total was tons. During the 1960 - 64 period, an average of metric tons of meal and beans were shipped, in terms of soybeans, or tons of meal and tons of beans. Book Markets for U S Soybeans and Soybean Products in Asia and Oceania Classic Reprint

Download or read book Markets for U S Soybeans and Soybean Products in Asia and Oceania Classic Reprint written by Calvin C. Spilsbury and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-01-10 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Markets for U. S. Soybeans and Soybean Products in Asia and Oceania During the last two decades a number of developing countries in Asia became markets for us. Soybeans for use in traditional Chinese and Japanese-type soybean foods. The demand for soybeans for food uses still exists in these countries, of course, but much of the market for these beans is being supplied by domestic production, as in South Korea, and by beans from other exporters, such as Mainland China. Today, these countries, plus Australia and New Zealand, are present and potential markets for increasing quantities of us. Soybeans for crushing into meal, or for meal as such. U.s. Soybean oil has met stiff competition and controls in this area - because of the availability of large quantities of palm, coconut, and other oils - but some still moves there under dollar sales. The new demand for crushing soybeans and for soybean meal stems for the most part from the spectacular increases in production and consumption of poultry meat now occurring throughout the area. Also important are the expanding egg and pork industries. Having discovered the production efficiencies that come with the use of modern mixed feeds containing soybean meal, these industries are demanding larger quantities of these feeds. Mixed feed industries have been Springing up to meet these demands. The developing poultry and livestock industries are also using new animal breeds imported from the United States and other countries.
