Download or read book Decouvertes a Travers La Meditation written by Julien Bouchard and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2011-10 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Le mensonge written by Kate Averis and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2010-09-13 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of essays considers the political, social, literary and artistic impact of the pervasive dichotomy of truth and lies in the context of French society and culture. A fundamental element of our social existance, the notion of le mensonge underpins how we participate in and respond to all aspects of society, from the political process to the capacity of art, literature and other aesthetic forms to fulfill a representative function. This book explores the ways in which French society and culture is regulated by the overriding oppositional structure of truth and lies, and the impact this has on both collective and individual existence. The theme brings together research from diverse disciplines of the Humanities, from political science to literature, film, music and visual arts, in a work that will be of great relevance to a wide range of students and researchers alike. As such, the theme serves as a means of gaining an insight into the range and scope of research currently being conducted in French studies. The book will be useful as a support text for a range of academic courses including those in the fields of cultural studies, literary studies, political studies and sociology. On a larger scale, it posits the theme’s potential to develop as an independent area of study, and offers a starting point for future academic study devoted to the idea of le mensonge.
Download or read book La restauration de la cr ation written by Michele Cutino and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2017-12-05 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. La restauration de la création aims to examine the status of animals in ancient and medieval Christian thought following an eschatological perspective, that is, focusing on the question of the salvation of animals according to the divine plan. The volume is articulated in three parts: Biblical sources, in particular the promise of the renewal of creation according to Rm 8, 21; Patristic and medieval doctrinal elaborations on the question; finally, contemporary considerations regarding the status of animals in our societies. Often absent from the current social debate on the subject, the historical Christian perspective which this volume proposes is intended as an original contribution to today’s ongoing reflexion on the legal and ethical status of animals.

Download or read book Creation and Christology written by Masanobu Endo and published by Mohr Siebeck. This book was released on 2002 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since previous scholarship has searched for figures equivalent to the personified Logos in the Johannine Prologue, scholars have often ignored the context of which the Genesis creation account is the center. Masanobu Endo examines that reference to the Genesis creation account as it appears in contexts where the unique identity of God is maintained. In eschatological contexts the realization of eschatological salvation is strongly expected on the grounds of the sovereignty of God, which is known in his work of creation. This observation of the theological function of the Genesis creation account in the Second Temple period may shed light on the question of why reference is made to the Genesis creation account in the Johannine prologue. What this means is that the descriptions of the identity of the Word (the Son) in the Johannine prologue were made on the grounds of Jewish monotheistic speculation about the identity of God the Creator.
Download or read book The Co Creation Paradigm written by Venkat Ramaswamy and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2014-04-09 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A fundamental shift is underway that will change how we conceive of value. In an era of increasing interconnectedness, individuals, as opposed to institutions, stand at the center of value creation. To adapt to this tectonic shift, organizations can no longer unilaterally devise products and services. They must engage stakeholders—from customers and employees to suppliers, partners, and citizens at large—as co-creators. Co-creation guru Venkat Ramaswamy and Kerimcan Ozcan call for enterprises to be mindful of lived experiences, to build engagement platforms and management systems that are designed for creative collaboration, and to develop "win more-win more" strategies that enhance our wealth, welfare, and, well-being. Richly illustrated with examples of co-creation in action, The Co-Creation Paradigm provides a blueprint for the co-creative enterprise, economy, and society, while presenting a conceptual framework that will guide organizations across sectors in adopting this transformational approach. Challenging some of our most deeply held ideas about business and value, this book outlines the future of "business as usual."

Download or read book Christ and Creation written by Noel O'Sullivan and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2009 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book sets out to interpret Henri de Lubac's theology of creation from a christological perspective. The challenge of this research has been the absence of a systematic christology in the writings of de Lubac. Yet it is possible to posit a Lubacian christology by sifting through the author's work on a myriad of subjects. The point of entry is the patristic distinction between 'image' and 'likeness', whereby 'image' is understood as an inamissible seal which bestows the divine prerogatives of reason, freedom, immortality and dominion over nature. 'Likeness' is a potential given at creation and realised in the course of the economy of salvation. De Lubac describes it variously as divinisation, divine union, the supernatural dignity of the human being, and participation in the internal movement of the Trinity. The originality of this book consists in the gradual emergence of the role of Christ in the process whereby image becomes likeness. De Lubac records his intention to publish a book on Jesus Christ, an ambition he never realised. The present book does not just illustrate the omnipresence of Christ in the writings of de Lubac but dares to delineate what a Lubacian christology would look like.
Download or read book Autobiographical Statements in Twentieth Century Russian Literature written by Jane Gary Harris and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2014-07-14 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fifteen essays in this volume explore the extraordinary range and diversity of the autobiographical mode in twentieth-century Russian literature from various critical perspectives. They will whet the appetite of readers interested in penetrating beyond the canonical texts of Russian literature. The introduction focuses on the central issues and key problems of current autobiographical theory and practice in both the West and in the Soviet Union, while each essay treats an aspect of auto-biographical praxis in the context of an individual author's work and often in dialogue with another of the included writers. Examined here are first the experimental writings of the early years of the twentieth century--Rozanov, Remizov, and Bely; second, the unique autobiographical statements of the mid-1920s through the early 1940s--Mandelstam, Pasternak, Olesha, and Zoshchenko; and finally, the diverse and vital contemporary writings of the 1960s through the 1980s as exemplified not only by creative writers but also by scholars, by Soviet citizens as well as by emigrs--Trifonov, Nadezhda Mandelstam, Lydia Ginzburg, Nabokov, Jakobson, Sinyavsky, and Limonov. Download or read book Creation and Contemplation written by Julien Decharneux and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-06-06 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Creation and Contemplation, Julien Decharneux explores the connections between the cosmology of the Qur’ān and various cosmological traditions of Late Antiquity, with a focus on Syriac Christianity. The first part of the book studies how, in exhorting its audience to contemplate the world, the Qur’ān carries on a tradition of natural contemplation that had developed throughout Late Antiquity in the Christian world. In this regard, the analysis suggests particularly striking connections with the mystical and ascetic literature of the Church of the East, which was in effervescence at the time of the emergence of Islam. The second part argues that the Qur’ānic cosmological discourse is built so as to serve the overarching theological message of the text, namely God’s absolute unity. Despite the allusive, and sometimes obscure, way in which the Qur’ān talks about the world’s coming into being and its maintenance in existence, the text betrays its authors’ acquaintance with cosmological debates of Late Antiquity. In studying the Qur’ān through the prism of Late Antiquity, this book contributes to our understanding of the emergence of Islam and its relationship with other religious traditions of the time. Winner of the 2022 Marie-Antoinette Van Huele Prize and the 2023 Richard Kreglinger Prize (both Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Free University of Brussels.
