Book The Origins Of Neuro Linguistic Programming

Download or read book The Origins Of Neuro Linguistic Programming written by John Grinder and published by Crown House Publishing. This book was released on 2013-05-09 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Origins of NLP brings together the recollections and thoughts of some of the main protagonists from the very early days of NLP. In 1971 Richard Bandler and Frank Pucelik were students at Kresege College at the University of California Santa Cruz. They had a strong mutual interest in Gestalt Therapy, Frank because of his traumatic time in Vietnam and because he had been working with some disaffected and drug-addicted kids, and Richard because he had been working with Science and Behavior Books on transcribing and editing Fritz Perls' seminal work, The Gestalt Approach and Eyewitness to Therapy. They started a local Gestalt group and ran 2-3 sessions a week collaborating and experimenting with the language of therapy. They started achieving some brilliant results but were having problems transferring their skills to others and so Richard invited one of their college professors, John Grinder, to observe what they were doing in order that he would, hopefully, be able to deconstruct what they were doing that was so effective. John was a professor of Linguistics and was instantly impressed with the work that they were doing. He was able to add more structure and in due course the three of them formalised what is now known as the Meta Model. NLP, or Meta as it was known then, was born.

Book Body Language Secrets Revealed

Download or read book Body Language Secrets Revealed written by Eric Goulard and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-09-27 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Friends or foes? Do you want to miss out on a good business opportunity? And what if it was the love of your life? Do you wish to know where their true intentions may really be hidden? They may not be telling you everything... The cognitive science is clear: non-verbal communication weighs considerably on our relationships. It often represents more than 90% of our exchanges. The MAJORITY of our communication is UNCONSCIOUS, INVOLUNTARY and UNAVOIDABLE! A person’s demeanor, gestures, and voice can tell you a lot about them, provided that you know how to decrypt the signs. After How to Detect Lies, Eric Goulard presents new keys to help decode the behavior of others in business situations and in private life. Because actions speak louder than words, it is necessary to listen beyond just what the person wants to say. The analysis of all non-verbal communication will help you keep one step ahead of others. You will then be able to anticipate people’s reactions and optimize your communication. Quote: 'A delight to read!', Joe Navarro, Former FBI special agent

Book Neuro Linguistic Programming for Change Leaders

Download or read book Neuro Linguistic Programming for Change Leaders written by David Potter and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-05-15 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We know a lot about change leadership. We understand how to design change programmes, and we know how to prescribe best practice change methods. Yet, despite all this knowledge, it is reported that up to 70% of change leadership projects fail to realize many of their objectives. The fault lines are cited as occurring at the micro level of social interaction. What we don’t adequately explain and demonstrate within the change leadership literature is how change leaders may consciously generate in themselves and in others resourceful mindsets, emotions, attitudes, and behaviours to enable positive change leadership dynamics. Neuro-Linguistic Programming for Change Leaders: The Butterfly Effect fills this gap by connecting the practices of personal development with those of corporate change leadership. This book has the vision of advancing NLP as a serious technology in the change leader’s tool box. The book introduces to operations managers, HR practitioners, OD specialists, and students of management new ideas and practices, which can transform their effectiveness as change leaders. It focuses on the benefits of applied NLP to change leaders as a generative change toolkit. Secondly, the book provides a model that shows change leaders how to build a climate of psychological safety to establish rapport with stakeholders. Thirdly, the book provides a strategy for enabling broader cultural change and stakeholder engagement throughout the organization.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A stimulating history of how the imagination interacted with its sibling psychological faculties—emotion, perception and reason—to shape the history of human mental life."—The Wall Street Journal To imagine—to see what is not there—is the startling ability that has fueled human development and innovation through the centuries. As a species we stand alone in our remarkable capacity to refashion the world after the picture in our minds. Traversing the realms of science, politics, religion, culture, philosophy, and history, Felipe Fernández-Armesto reveals the thrilling and disquieting tales of our imaginative leaps—from the first Homo sapiens to the present day. Through groundbreaking insights in cognitive science, Fernández-Armesto explores how and why we have ideas in the first place, providing a tantalizing glimpse into who we are and what we might yet accomplish. Unearthing historical evidence, he begins by reconstructing the thoughts of our Paleolithic ancestors to reveal the subtlety and profundity of the thinking of early humans. A masterful paean to the human imagination from a wonderfully elegant thinker, Out of Our Minds shows that bad ideas are often more influential than good ones; that the oldest recoverable thoughts include some of the best; that ideas of Western origin often issued from exchanges with the wider world; and that the pace of innovative thinking is under threat.
