Los formatos de prácticas se han ajustado o elaborado de acuerdo a los últimos cambios al programa. El propósito de este manual es que el estudiante tenga un material de apoyo para reforzar lo aprendido en teoría y lo aplique en la realidad a través de las prácticas de campo, esperando con ello lograr un mejor aprovechamiento y aprendizaje. Es importante señalar que las prácticas de campo tienen como finalidad el permitir que el estudiante de medicina veterinaria y zootecnia afronte con agilidad, rapidez y economía de tiempo y esfuerzo las situaciones constantes y rutinarias de la vida y del trabajo lo que le permitirá su adaptación al ambiente físico, social propio de su profesión. En ese sentido, es importante enfatizar que la adquisición de esas habilidades y destrezas sólo puede producirse por medio de la repetición o el seleccionado de manera intencional de aquellas actividades que contribuyan a que el estudiante desempeñe mejor sus funciones en su profesión. Por ello, es necesario que todo profesor discrimine, con la mayor claridad y precisión, cuáles son las habilidades y destrezas que en su asignatura importan; realice el plan de trabajo para lograr esas metas (habilidades y destrezas) que deben ser propuestas a los estudiantes; y finalmente, haga que los estudiantes vayan adquiriendo, poco a poco y con perfección creciente, cada una de las destrezas y habilidades específicas previstas, mediante trabajos prácticos y ejercicios apropiados y bien orientados. Este manual trata de responder a ese propósito ya que de esta serie de habilidades y destrezas por desarrollar en el estudiante depende su preparación para la vida y para su ejercicio profesional.

Recognition of this is reflected by the World Health Organization (WHO) Recommended Classification of Pesticides by Hazard, which was first published in 1975. The document classifies pesticides in one of five hazard classes according to their acute toxicity. In 2002, the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) was introduced, which in addition to acute toxicity also provides classification of chemicals according to their chronic health hazards and environmental hazards.
