Download or read book Dad Bod written by Kaden Layne and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-27 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever loved something so much you'd do anything to protect it? Keep it safe, no matter the expense to yourself? No matter how miserable it makes you? Yeah, we all have. Some folks feel the need to protect their loved ones--I feel the need to protect my six-pack. And my washboard has been well protected beneath sixty pounds of hardened man chub, but my sexy abs are about to make a comeback. I do it alright, even sign up for a trainer at the gym. This dude is just what I need to get back on track. He'll give me the brutal drill sergeant attitude I need to kick my ass in line. It's gonna be freakin' awesome. Imagine my shock and shrinking manhood when Jordan Williams walks in. A five-feet-six inch chick with more curves than a back road and just the right amount of sass and sweet. She's bold as brass and tough as nails, and I'm completely screwed. She encourages me to set three milestones for my weight loss, a way to reward myself for the pounds shed. One is getting back on the dating scene. It's not what I expect, but I have a hard time saying no to her. I'm not only losing my dad bod but my man card too. All it takes is two disastrous dates and several awkward situations for me to realize who I really want to show all my tools to is right in front of me. Busting my ass in the gym every day. Maybe I should have concentrated just as much on protecting my heart as I have my abs. Jordan is out of my league, and my goal is to get on her level.

Download or read book Markets at Work written by Bertrand Renaud and published by Hong Kong University Press. This book was released on 1997-07-28 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'The real estate economy of Hong Kong is one of the most dynamic and sophisticated in the world, and has contributed greatly to the spectacular development of this vibrant city. More importantly, at a time of rapid globalization of the world economy, it is possibly the best model of the behaviour of an advanced real estate industry operating in an open economy. Hong Kong is thereforeof interest to analysts and policymakers everywhere, not least because of Hong Kong's political reintegration with China in 1997. With this in mind, the authors have managed to capture the key economic features of the private residential real estate market in Hong Kong in this compact volume. They have identified and highlighted critical institutions that contribute to the success and economic factors which shape the dynamics of all sectors of the real estate industry in Hong Kong. This book is essential reading for market analysts, policymakers, students and international readers with an interest in comparative analysis of real estate markets and institutions.' Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Each of these men bears a legendary name in baseball broadcasting--Caray, Brennaman, Buck and Kalas--and some can count four generations of men whose voices defined a team. All of the sons relate how their fathers' names opened doors for them but concurrently raised expectations of how they should perform, and all relate how they learned from their fathers' (and grandfathers') triumphs and mistakes. Includes a foreword by Chip Caray, speeches by Joe Buck about his father Jack, and articles by Skip Caray, Chip Caray and Marty Brennaman.

Download or read book Reclaiming Reading written by Richard J. Meyer and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-03-22 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inviting teachers back to the role of reflective advocates for thoughtful reading instruction, this book presents theory and pedagogical possibilities to reclaim and build upon the knowledge base that was growing when government mandates, scripted commercial programs, and high stakes tests took over as the dominant agenda for reading instruction in U.S. public schools. Focusing on literacy learners’ and their teachers’ lives as literate souls, it examines how the teaching of reading can be reclaimed via an intensive reconsideration of five pillars as central to the teaching and learning of reading: learning, teaching, curriculum, language, and sociocultural contexts. Reclaiming Reading articulates the knowledge base that was marginalized or disrupted by legislated and policy intrusions into classrooms and provides practical examples for taking good reading instruction out of the cracks and moving it back to the center of the classroom. Explaining what happens in readers’ minds as they read and how teachers can design practices to support that process, this book encourages teachers to initiate pedagogy that will help them begin or return to the stance of reflective, knowledgeable, professional decision-makers.
