Book Daddy s Little Girl and Mommy s Little Boy

Download or read book Daddy s Little Girl and Mommy s Little Boy written by Zester Hatfield and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2005-05-04 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mr. Hatfield with all of his years of experience in marriage, parenting, family, missions and in the Church pulls no punches in calling Christ's Bride to return to His Truth (God's revealed Law-Word) regarding discipleship (men and women of faith and grace) in Manhood and Womanhood, outrageously successful spousal relations, parenting with training in romance, sexual satisfaction, love and marriage! He is calling all believers, especially men, to confession and repentance and to receive, understand and apply these Truths in the Power of the Holy Spirit as the only acceptable response in which God will revive and reform the Family and the Church in the 21st Century! Not for the weak-kneed, weak-minded or humanistically influenced, this is for Christ's Bride as we prepare for and anticipate His return! These applications of God's revealed Law-Word and His uncommon common sense in the lives of America's postmodern Christian culture and especially the promise of duplicating of these successes for love and marriage in our children, is exciting and challenging to the point of precedent setting magnitudes. The reader will experience riveting and exciting challenges to the status quo of our present day Christian culture. "Based on interviews with more than 1000 adults nationwide, the survey discovered that less than one out of every five adults believes that children under the age of 13 are being "superbly" or "pretty well" prepared for life emotionally, physically, spiritually, intellectually or physically. Fewer than one out of every twenty adults believes that America's youngsters are receiving above average preparation in all five of those areas of life." Americans Agree: "Kids Are Not Being Prepared for Life," The Barna Group-October 26, 2004 The couples, who discover the answers to the moral morass of our postmodern Christian culture, are those who know that the future of their children is in jeopardy and that we are in a war for the control of that future! Sadly, the statistics of broken homes, divorces, adultery, domestic violence, drugs and promiscuity - to mention only some of the ills of our culture - are almost equally divided between "Christian" families and non-Christian families. This is unacceptable as a comparison and must change. Consequently, fathers and mothers of faith and grace are those - who are and or who will experience - God's promise of victory over these fruits of our fallen nature and live a marriage experience that captures the best of God's gifts of love, sex and romance in marriage. Daddy's Little Girl and Mommy's Little Boy brings us clear evidence of just how America's Christian couples can have this victory in their marriage and how to duplicate this success in their sons and daughters.

Download or read book Dancing Jewish written by Rebecca Rossen and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2014-05-02 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While Jews are commonly referred to as the "people of the book," American Jewish choreographers have consistently turned to dance as a means to articulate personal and collective identities; tangle with stereotypes; advance social and political agendas; and imagine new possibilities for themselves as individuals, artists, and Jews. Dancing Jewish delineates this rich history, demonstrating that Jewish choreographers have not only been vital contributors to American modern and postmodern dance, but that they have also played a critical and unacknowledged role in the history of Jews in the United States. A dancer and choreographer, as well as an historian, author Rebecca Rossen offers evocative analyses of dances while asserting the importance of embodied methodologies to academic research. Featuring over fifty images, a companion website, and key works from 1930 to 2005 by a wide range of artists - including David Dorfman, Dan Froot, David Gordon, Hadassah, Margaret Jenkins, Pauline Koner, Dvora Lapson, Liz Lerman, Sophie Maslow, Anna Sokolow, and Benjamin Zemach - Dancing Jewish offers a comprehensive framework for interpreting performance and establishes dance as a crucial site in which American Jews have grappled with cultural belonging, personal and collective histories, and the values that bind and pull them apart.

Book Myth and Madness

  • Author : Mortimer Ostow
  • Publisher : Routledge
  • Release : 2018-04-17
  • ISBN : 1351293141
  • Pages : 245 pages

Download or read book Myth and Madness written by Mortimer Ostow and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-04-17 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The persistence of anti-Semitism and its current resurgence after a brief post-Holocaust suppression, challenge those who study human behavior to locate the causal bases of anti-Semitism and find approaches to combat it. This is an astonishing report of a nine-year study of the psychodynamics of anti-Semitism. Undertaken by Dr. Mortimer Ostow on behalf of the Psychoanalytic Research and Development Fund, it puts flesh and bones on the discussion of antisemitism in Sigmund Freud's 1939 classic theoretical study Moses and Monotheism. Its close adherence to case material, and application of psychoanalytic theory to historical data and cultural products, yields new insights into bigotry and equity alike. By examining prejudiced patients and their myths, Dr. Ostow shows the common threads of anti-Semitism in a variety of national and cultural settings, even under supposed optimal conditions when antisemitism is stringently controlled. The work uses the psychiatric approach, and can be read as a study of how this area of behavioral science reveals the interplay of the individual and the group, cultural background and material opportunities. The book is divided into five major segments: Psychoanalytic interpretation of anti-Semitism in the past; clinical data on anti-Semitic sentiments in a variety of personal and national settings; mythological dimensions of anti-Semitism and apocalyptic doctrines; specific anti-Semitic myths including pre-Christian early and medieval Christian, "racial" and post-modern Muslim anti-Semitism. The final segment focuses on the pogrom mentality, including the Nazi phenomenon, antisemitic fundamentalism, and black anti-Semitism. Myth and Madness is informed by an amazing breadth of learning: from biblical exegesis to modern sociology, from close attention to mundane patients to evaluating mythic claims of the loftiest, and at times most dangerous sort. This is a landmark effort—one that will be the touchstone for theoretical and clinical works to come.

Book Daddy s Home

Download or read book Daddy s Home written by Steven Schnur and published by Crown. This book was released on 2013-01-23 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today’s dad comes home at the end of the day to a job he loves: fatherhood. Daddy’s Home! gathers together honest and funny true stories about coming home into manhood--getting married, buying a house, having kids, and everything else that happens when you don't want to put off being a grown-up any longer. Steven Schnur writes about the frustrations of infertility, the scary joy of helping his wife give birth, and the relentless scramble to keep up with twins. Always, he gets the details right and adds a dose of his own hard-won wisdom. Today’s dad is learning to appreciate the small things--the daily discoveries children make, the pleasures and worries of raising them right, and the ever-evolving knack for turning little trials into little triumphs. Today’s dad is negotiating the supermarket, coming to terms with his family history and heritage, and living with the sweet chaos of watching his children change. Daddy’s Home! preserves in words what is so fleeting in nature: “the cherished hopes, the mayhem, and the minor miracles that amplify the narrowly circumscribed universe of one doting father.” The perfect companion for both veteran and novice dads, Daddy’s Home! is a tribute to people everywhere who are heroic in their ability to recognize joy. It is a celebration of a man’s biggest challenge-and also his biggest delight.
