One second he is safe at home, and the next he is sitting on an overgrown path in a dark, alien jungle. What concerns him the most? He does not know how to get back. In the morning his mother found the imprint of his body on the bed, with an empty wooden box and a delicate silver pedestal on his nightstand. Her son, and the contents of the box, are nowhere to be found. Daniel's trusty Labrador was the only witness - and he isn't talking.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is somewhat anecdotal in content, offering profound insight, which may prove helpful as “food for thought”. This six-year study supports a belief that mental and spiritual interactions exist between humans, animals, and angel/spirit orbs. The evidence contained within this book is of immense value. This book presents the first known Photograph of the LIVING SOUL OF A DECEASED CANINE PET named “Asia”. A spiritual connection of orb presence with a purpose has been validated through our dog, “Buddy”, who sees and chases spirit orbs that have been revealed to the physical world via the digital camera.

Book excerpt: For more years than he can remember, astronomer Ernie Cowarth has been sworn to secrecy on behalf of the United States government regarding an incomprehensible lunar event—later known as the "moonflaw"—that occurred in late October 1953. Due to negligent actions of the Apollo 15 crew, who succumbed to their deeper curiosities during what was designed to be a restricted investigation some eighteen years later, cosmic radiation from the event was inadvertently conveyed back to Earth, where it eventually brings about a strange phenomenon: a series of disorienting and disturbing dreams that link together the minds of perfect strangers. Bizarre events ultimately coalesce in the city of Hartford, Connecticut, where a demonic entity has seized opportunity from the fallout, escalating the emissions into a dual threat. From reanimated beings known as Deceivers, who furtively project into the living realm, to a subterranean lair that snakes below the city like a flooded catacomb, unholy horrors await a cast of dream-plagued, fate-bound individuals who must face unfathomable darkness in order to restore humanity as it once was before the Moonflaw.

Book Almost Christian

  • Author : Kenda Creasy Dean

Download or read book Almost Christian written by Kenda Creasy Dean and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2010-07-16 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on the National Study of Youth and Religion--the same invaluable data as its predecessor, Soul Searching: The Religious and Spiritual Lives of American Teenagers--Kenda Creasy Dean's compelling new book, Almost Christian, investigates why American teenagers are at once so positive about Christianity and at the same time so apathetic about genuine religious practice. In Soul Searching, Christian Smith and Melinda Lundquist Denton found that American teenagers have embraced a "Moralistic Therapeutic Deism"--a hodgepodge of banal, self-serving, feel-good beliefs that bears little resemblance to traditional Christianity. But far from faulting teens, Dean places the blame for this theological watering down squarely on the churches themselves. Instead of proclaiming a God who calls believers to lives of love, service and sacrifice, churches offer instead a bargain religion, easy to use, easy to forget, offering little and demanding less. But what is to be done? In order to produce ardent young Christians, Dean argues, churches must rediscover their sense of mission and model an understanding of being Christian as not something you do for yourself, but something that calls you to share God's love, in word and deed, with others. Dean found that the most committed young Christians shared four important traits: they could tell a personal and powerful story about God; they belonged to a significant faith community; they exhibited a sense of vocation; and they possessed a profound sense of hope. Based on these findings, Dean proposes an approach to Christian education that places the idea of mission at its core and offers a wealth of concrete suggestions for inspiring teens to live more authentically engaged Christian lives. Persuasively and accessibly written, Almost Christian is a wake up call no one concerned about the future of Christianity in America can afford to ignore.

Book Bird

    Book Details:
  • Author : Noy Holland
  • Publisher : Catapult
  • Release : 2016-10-11
  • ISBN : 1619028271
  • Pages : 177 pages

Download or read book Bird written by Noy Holland and published by Catapult. This book was released on 2016-10-11 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a novel about the persistence of longing in which the twin lives of the title character blur and overlap. Bird puts her child on the bus for school and passes the day with her baby. Interwoven into the passage of the day are phone calls from a promiscuous, unmarried friend, and Bird's recollection of the feral, reckless love she knew as a young woman. It's a day infused with fear and longing, an exploration of the ways the past shapes and dislodges the present. In the present moment, Bird dutifully cares for her husband, infant, older child. But at the same time Bird inhabits this rehabilitated domestic life, she re–lives an unshakeable passion: Mickey, the lover she returns to with what feels like a migratory impulse, Mickey, whose movements and current lovers she still tracks. With Mickey, she slummed and wandered—part–time junkie, tourist of the low–life—a life of tantalizing peril. This can't last, Bird thought, and it was true. Noy Holland's writing is lyrical, fired by a heightened eroticism in which every sight and auditory sensation is charged with arousal. The writing in this book – Noy Holland's first novel –– is fearless in its depiction of sexual appetite and obsessive love. It sheds light on the terror of abandonment and the terrible knowledge that we are helpless to protect not only ourselves but the people we most love.

Book The Orb Project

Download or read book The Orb Project written by Klaus Heinemann and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2007-11-06 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After literally stumbling into orbs appearing as bright as light bulbs in photographs he was taking at a spiritual retreat, Dr. Klaus Heinemann immediately sensed that he was onto something profound. There was no choice but to convince himself that his notion was on solid grounds. Heinemann looked at thousands of pictures he had taken earlier, and thousands more would be taken to test the hypothesis that these light circles are nothing less than emanations from Spirit beings. Dr. Míceál Ledwith had a similar experience after the orb phenomenon was first made known to him through the teachings of Ramtha. He began an intense and systematic study of orbs in all sort of situations, day and night, and in all sorts of atmospheric conditions, in order to discover all he could about their nature, the situations in which their presence could be most easily detected, and what implications they might have for our understanding of our own place in the cosmos. To date, he has amassed a collection of well over 100,000 images. In The Orb Project, Ledwith and Heinemann present their fascinating discoveries, along with practical tips that amateur digital photographers can use to photograph orbs and properly distinguish them from "false" orbs that are really dust or water particles. They offer guidelines on deciphering the orbs' various patterns, features, and characteristics, based on their extensive research. As Dr. Ledwith points out, once you develop a keen and sustained interest in photographing spirit entities, some quite interesting things begin to happen: the brain stops censoring these images, and you can begin to see with orbs with the naked eye -- in more color and detail than is visible to even a digital camera. Ledwith and Heinemann also explore communication with orbs and what their existence means to our lives. The implications of a realization that we are "surrounded by a cloud of witnesses" are enormous and incredibly hopeful for the world at large.
