Book Crossing the Goal

Download or read book Crossing the Goal written by Danny Abramowicz and published by Sophia Institute Press. This book was released on 2016-09-22 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: He seemed to have it all—a beautiful family, a big house, and the celebrity that comes with being a star player in the National Football League. In the late 60s and early 70s, Danny Abramowicz was the toast of New Orleans, but as his Catholic faith faded into the background he felt alone and helpless against the temptations and expectations of fame. And so one day he called out that simple prayer: Lord, please help me! This book is about the answer to that prayer. Danny Abramowicz gives an inside view of his life in the NFL alongside the reinvigoration of his Catholic Faith and the development of a prayerful relationship with Jesus Christ. Join him on his journey from “cultural Catholic” to EWTN television host and evangelizer of Catholic men across the country. Even if you didn’t play and coach professional football with the likes of Archie Manning and Mike Ditka, you will find Danny’s down-to- earth telling of his story approachable and relatable. Most of all, Danny brings the hope of brotherhood in Christ to all men who have felt, or are now feeling, the despair of professional, personal, and spiritual failure. Our world needs courageous men of Christ to step into the breach, armed with the virtues of faith and love and hope. Learn about becoming a leader not just from Danny’s coaching experiences, but also from his work forming and sustaining men’s groups in nearly every city in which he has lived. Finally, in this book Danny presents his spiritual fitness workout—a time-tested way to build up the muscles of faith to go to spiritual battle in a hostile world.

Back home with PTSD, lightning strikes with a head coaching offer from an old friend which leads to the excitement of a renewed career, ...or so Dempsey thinks. Ty's mother mistakenly rents an apartment slightly inside the border of Roosevelt High School, ...a school where no one wants to go. Crossing The Goal Line is the story of two misfits who collide to take on the ills of a socially and racially troubled, inner-city high school football team that hasn't won a game in four years. Dempsey fights off PTSD, gang wars, failing academic grades and poverty. Douglas, with the help of a befriended six-foot four, 300 pound offensive tackle, fights to lead the football team while protecting the sassy sister of one of the players.

Book Crossing the Aisle

Download or read book Crossing the Aisle written by Keel Hunt and published by Vanderbilt University Press. This book was released on 2021-04-30 with total page 506 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The latter third of the twentieth century was a time of fundamental political transition across the South as increasing numbers of voters began to choose Republican candidates over Democrats. Yet in the 1980s and '90s, reform-focused policymaking—from better schools to improved highways and health care—flourished in Tennessee. This was the work of moderate leaders from both parties who had a capacity to work together "across the aisle." The Tennessee story, as the Pulitzer Prize–winning author Jon Meacham observes in his foreword to this book, offers striking examples of bipartisan cooperation on many policy fronts—and a mode of governing that provides lessons for America in this frustrating era of partisan stalemate. Book Quicklet on Geoffrey A Moore s Crossing the Chasm Marketing and Selling High Tech Products to Mainstream Customers

Download or read book Quicklet on Geoffrey A Moore s Crossing the Chasm Marketing and Selling High Tech Products to Mainstream Customers written by Richard Childers and published by Hyperink Inc. This book was released on 2012-04-04 with total page 67 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ABOUT THE BOOK Since its first publication in 1991, Geoffrey Moores Crossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling High Tech Products to Mainstream Customers has set the standard for tech business moguls. In fact, it has become the standard for all of us trying to make our way in the confusing world of technology business. Moore argues that there is a chasm that exists between early adopters of a potentially disruptive technology product and what he calls the early majority, or the market segment that takes such a product to the upper ranges of success. Moore believes that early adopters and visionaries have very different expectations than the pragmatists that follow. In this book, he explores those differences and suggests specific techniques to successfully cross the "chasm." These include choosing a target market, understanding the whole product concept, positioning the product, building a successful marketing strategy, and choosing the most appropriate distribution channel and pricing. MEET THE AUTHOR Richard Childers is an experienced writer and a member of the Hyperink Team, which works hard to bring you high-quality, engaging, fun content. Happy reading! EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK Moores major thesis is that there is something wrong with the High Tech Marketing Model. There are gaps separating the major groups described in the Technology Adoption Life Cycle. These gaps represent the fact that any group will have a hard time accepting a new product if it is marketed to them in the same manner it was marketed to the group that preceded them. Each of these gaps is an opportunity for marketing to lose momentum and miss the transition to the next group. Two of these gaps are relatively small, what Moore calls cracks in the bell curve. The gap between innovators and early adopters occurs when a hot new technology product cannot be transitioned into a major new benefit. The enthusiast loves it for its architecture, but nobody can even figure out how to start using it. There is a second crack of similar size that exists between the early majority and the late majority. It comes at a time in the product life cycle when the market is well developed and the technology product is in the mainstream. While the early majority was quite willing and able to achieve the level of technical competence required to gain benefit from the product, the late majority user is much less so. In order to continue developing their market by moving into the late majority segment, the product marketers must make the product easier to use and implement. If they fail to do so, they may fail in their attempts to transition to this next segment. CHAPTER OUTLINE Quicklet on Geoffrey A.
