Book Cross Section Measurement of the Process gamma Gamma p Pbar in Untagged Events at sqrt s

Download or read book Cross Section Measurement of the Process gamma Gamma p Pbar in Untagged Events at sqrt s written by Teresa Barillari and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book A Measurement of the Differential Cross Section for the Reaction gamma N to pi P from Deuterium

Download or read book A Measurement of the Differential Cross Section for the Reaction gamma N to pi P from Deuterium written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We report a measurement of the differential cross section for the $\gamma n \to \pi^- p$ process from the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab in Hall B for photon energies between 1.0 and 3.5 GeV and pion center-of-mass (c.m.) angles ($\theta_{c.m.}$) between 50$^\circ$ and 115$^\circ$. We confirm a previous indication of a broad enhancement around a c.m. energy ($\sqrt{s}$) of 2.2 GeV at $\theta_{c.m.}=90^\circ$ in the scaled differential cross section, $s^7 {\frac{d\sigma}{dt}}$. Our data show the angular dependence of this enhancement as the scaling region is approached in the kinematic region from 70$^\circ$ to 105$^\circ$.

Book Measurement of the Differential Cross Section d sigma dt in Elastic p bar p Scattering at sqrt s

Download or read book Measurement of the Differential Cross Section d sigma dt in Elastic p bar p Scattering at sqrt s written by and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present a measurement of the elastic differential cross section differential cross section d?(p{bar p}→p{bar p})/dt as a function of the four-momentum-transfer squared t. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of ≈31 nb−1 collected with the D0 detector using dedicated Tevatron p{bar p} Collider operating conditions at √s = 1.96 TeV and covers the range 0.26>

Book Measurement of The gamma Cross Section at D0 Using Dimuons

Download or read book Measurement of The gamma Cross Section at D0 Using Dimuons written by and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The D0 experiment has measured the[gamma] differential cross section in p[bar p] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV for[vert-bar]y[sup[gamma]][vert-bar]0.7. We find the measured cross section to be a factor of five larger than the O([alpha][sub s][sup 3]) QCD prediction for p[sub T][sup[gamma]] 5 GeV/c.

Book Evidence for t bar t gamma Production and Measurement of sigma t bar t gamma

Download or read book Evidence for t bar t gamma Production and Measurement of sigma t bar t gamma written by and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using data corresponding to 6.0 fb−1 of p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV collected by the CDF II detector, we present a cross section measurement of top-quark pair production with an additional radiated photon, t{bar t}[gamma]. The events are selected by looking for a lepton (l), a photon ([gamma]), significant transverse momentum imbalance (E{sub T}), large total transverse energy, and three or more jets, with at least one identified as containing a b quark (b). The t{bar t}[gamma] sample requires the photon to have 10 GeV or more of transverse energy, and to be in the central region. Using an event selection optimized for the t{bar t}[gamma] candidate sample we measure the production cross section of t{bar t} ([sigma]{sub t{bar t}}), and the ratio of cross sections of the two samples. Control samples in the dilepton+photon and lepton+photon+E{sub T}, channels are constructed to aid in decay product identification and background measurements. We observe 30 t{bar t}[gamma] candidate events compared to the standard model expectation of 26.9 ± 3.4 events. We measure the t{bar t}[gamma] cross section ([sigma]{sub t{bar t}}) to be 0.18 ± 0.08 pb, and the ratio of [sigma]{sub t{bar t}[gamma]} to [sigma]{sub t{bar t}} to be 0.024 ± 0.009. Assuming no t{bar t}[gamma] production, we observe a probability of 0.0015 of the background events alone producing 30 events or more, corresponding to 3.0 standard deviations.

Book Measurement of the Z Gamma Nu Anti nu Gamma Cross Section and Limits on Anomalous Z Z Gamma and Z Gamma Gamma Couplings in P Anti p Collisions at S 1 2

Download or read book Measurement of the Z Gamma Nu Anti nu Gamma Cross Section and Limits on Anomalous Z Z Gamma and Z Gamma Gamma Couplings in P Anti p Collisions at S 1 2 written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present the first observation of the Z[gamma] →[nu]{bar [nu]}[gamma] process at the Tevatron at 5.1 standard deviations significance, based on 3.6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} Collider at √s = 1.96 TeV. The measured Z[gamma] cross section multiplied by the branching fraction of Z → {nu}{bar {nu}} is 32 ± 9(stat. + syst.) ± 2(lumi.) fb for the photon E{sub T} > 90 GeV. It is in agreement with the standard model prediction of 39 ± 4 fb. We set the most restrictive limits on anomalous trilinear Z[gamma][gamma] and ZZ[gamma] gauge boson couplings at a hadron collider to date, with three constraints being the world's strongest.
