Download or read book Perfecting the Art of Mime and Drama written by Christopher Bailey and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-05-30 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Greetings!!! It is indeed an honor and pleasure for me to share with you valuable information that will elevate your mime and drama ministry to a new dimension of worship. By the end of this handbook my prayer is that you will be equipped to minister to the masses like never before. As you read and begin to implement the wisdom that flows within, please keep this thought in the forefront of your mind: (Your growth in ministry depends heavily on your willingness to never stop learning and to never stop worshiping the Lord) God is a forward moving God. So in other words, stop using the plans and utensils from yesterday for your today. Implement the plan that God is currently using (Present) not what He used (Past). What He USED was necessary to get you to where you are now. It serves as your reminder, your testimony for others. "One of the key elements to creativity is the ability to embrace its openness. The positive power and energy that exudes from the arts cannot be contained in a box mentality." Such thinking chokes the life out of creativity causing it to become stale, boring, and ineffective. Therefore my goal is to instill fresh, innovative, creative ideas along with proper instructions to mime and performing arts ministries, by introducing the marriage of mime and drama - (Mime-O-Drama). I encourage you to align your lifestyle, your creativity with the anointing of the Holy Spirit and become one. This unity creates an atmosphere where true ministry takes place. Miracles, signs and wonders become the norm. Broken hearts are mended, the chains of bondage are broken, the vital breath of healing, deliverance and salvation flow into the lives of both the believer and non-believer. (Isaiah 61:1 - 3) says: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified." "Understanding your Holy calling equips you to live a lifestyle befitting of the call to be effective in ministry of mime and drama." The principle that sustains this handbook can be found in: (2nd Timothy 2: 15) says: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth." "It is my earnest prayer that God will impart a fresh fire anointing upon your ministry. We as ministers of the performing arts have the ultimate responsibility to uplift the name of Jesus to the nations at all times. The lifestyle we live before our peers should serve as a light on a hill which would lead those searching, to find Christ." So let us lay aside the spirit of competition, entertainment, and personal gratification for the greater good. Let us therefore center our attention on Jesus Christ and illustrate HIS truth which is entrenched in the Word of God. - Minister Christopher Bailey, Sr.-

Book American Fun

    Book Details:
  • Author : John Beckman
  • Publisher : Vintage
  • Release : 2014-11-04
  • ISBN : 0345803779
  • Pages : 434 pages

Download or read book American Fun written by John Beckman and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2014-11-04 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is an animated and wonderfully engaging work of cultural history that lays out America’s unruly past by describing the ways in which cutting loose has always been, and still is, an essential part of what it means to be an American. From the time the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, Americans have defied their stodgy rules and hierarchies with pranks, dances, stunts, and wild parties, shaping the national character in profound and lasting ways. In the nation’s earlier eras, revelers flouted Puritans, Patriots pranked Redcoats, slaves lampooned masters, and forty-niners bucked the saddles of an increasingly uptight middle class. In the twentieth century, fun-loving Americans celebrated this heritage and pushed it even further: flappers “barney-mugged” in “petting pantries,” Yippies showered the New York Stock Exchange with dollar bills, and B-boys invented hip-hop in a war zone in the Bronx. This is the surprising and revelatory history that John Beckman recounts in American Fun. Tying together captivating stories of Americans’ “pursuit of happiness”—and distinguishing between real, risky fun and the bland amusements that paved the way for Hollywood, Disneyland, and Xbox—Beckman redefines American culture with a delightful and provocative thesis. (With black-and-white illustrations throughout.)

Book Group Process and Structure in Psychosocial Occupational Therapy

Download or read book Group Process and Structure in Psychosocial Occupational Therapy written by Diane Gibson and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 1988 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Effective group leadership techniques are the focus of this practical, sound volume. Dedicated to assisting occupational therapy practitioners and students in understanding current theory and state-of-the-art techniques in group treatment, this functional book fills the gap left by existing literature and educational programs that focus mainly on diagnoses and task analysis. Highly skilled professionals examine the important concepts of group therapy--structural elements, such as goals, norms, group size, physical environment, and instructions that can be varied depending on the purpose, needs, and functional level of the client; the ability to guide and control process elements, such as spontaneous feedback; and the ability to support clients and help build a cohesive, safe group. Fascinating examples of innovative new group techniques--social skills game, mime group, and the use of robots--demonstrate how creative content can effectively combine structure and process in group treatment.
