Book Creating a Wholesome Human Being

Download or read book Creating a Wholesome Human Being written by Monique Goulet and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2017-05-05 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a true story about a girl who was born on Thanksgiving Day in 1936 to two French Canadian parents. Throughout her life, she experienced mental, emotional and physical distress caused by her father’s disease of alcoholism. Neither parent understood the dynamics of alcoholism and the consequences of an alcoholic’s behavior on the entire family. Revealing her ancestors’ genetic predisposition to alcoholism helps to understand how every generation can inherit the disease. Monique never felt that she belonged in her family, therefore she went on a lifelong journey to discover her true authentic self. She managed to connect to universal energy and allowed her spiritual masters to guide her life. She learned that evaluating lessons learned from negative events altered her emotional attachment to each event. She desperately wanted to heal herself and her family members, therefore she became a nurse to discover the different methods of healing. When the use of medical technology failed to heal her or her family, she became interested in alternative methods of healing. She joined the American Holistic Nurses Association and found that Reiki energy healing helped her heal her body, mind and spirit and transform her life. Throughout the course of her life, a Shaman showed up to introduce her to Shamanic healing technology. She eventually she became a Shamanic practitioner and currently uses Shamanic and Reiki energy to heal herself and others. Monique underwent twenty years of intensive therapy to grieve the suicide deaths of her father and two brothers as well as the death of her first child. Therapy also helped her get through her divorce. She learned how the words, messages and behaviors of parents, educators, social media and peers affected her emotions and behavior. Identifying the negative thoughts, irrational beliefs and suppressed emotions that impacted her life in a negative manner was the most difficult part of her recovery. Because she had developed strong survival skills to keep her safe from harm, she felt fearful when her therapist told her that she needed to let go of her mask of pretense. Becoming an Addiction Counselor helped Monique gain the knowledge she felt she needed to heal the alcoholics in her family. After years of enabling and rescuing her family members, she learned to allow them to be responsible for the consequences of their actions. She knew that she had finally become a wholesome human being once she identified the healthy changes in her body, mind and spirit.

Book R K Narayan s Malgudi Milieu

Download or read book R K Narayan s Malgudi Milieu written by Sravani Biswas and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2019-01-29 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book projects R.K. Narayan as a writer who, unlike many of his contemporaries was able to address his times and country of birth without giving in to the ruling influences of certain ideologies which made the works of many of his peers monologic, and even pedagogic. It underscores the influence of colonial capitalism in India and the advent of a new and strange class of people who responded to the market economy with gusto. The book also shows how Narayan’s approach is ethical in nature without being harsh on the people he critiques. Through the application of Bakhtin’s theories, Narayan is here positioned as a writer who was deceptively simple, but who can be considered as one of the foremost post-modern writers of India. He wrote at a time when the Gandhian influence had motivated writers so much that they could not envision the other side of the coin, the constant subversion of this ruling influence. Narayan depicted that reality effectively in a grotesque form.

Download or read book God Science and the Buddha written by Wijeratne Weerakkody and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2010-07-30 with total page 357 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here in this book "God, Science, and the Buddha" my genuine effort is to present the reader with some insight into the existence of life and matter within the concept of universal space-time in order to understand how and why mind is declared by the Buddha as the forerunner of all existence in eternity and infinity of the concept of space-time.Learning to understand the culmination of all the energies contained within the concept of space-time would unify theology, science and the nature in the noble name of God without division into mind based diverse theological images. The rare opportunity in human form of life is too precious to be neglected and wasted within the short span of existence in this sensual realm of life. In order to be comfortable with this understanding the author seeks to discuss scientific revelations in cosmology, physics, and physiology along with theology, religions, philosophy and Buddhism, which explains the existence of the nature in its true form.

Book Religion and Ethics in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Download or read book Religion and Ethics in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit written by Ronald M. Green and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2019-09-04 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Each year, neonatal Intensive care units (NICUs) in the U.S. and around the world help thousands of sick or premature newborns survive. NICUs are committed to the ideals of family-centered care, which encourages shared decision-making between parents and NICU caregivers. In cases of infants with conditions marked by high mortality, morbidity, or great suffering, family-centered care affirms the right of parents to assist in making decisions regarding aggressive treatment for their infant. Often, these parents' difficult and intimate decisions are shaped profoundly by their religious beliefs. In light of this, what precisely are the teachings of the major world religious traditions about the status and care of the premature or sick newborn? Few studies have grappled with what major religious traditions teach about the care of the newborn or how these teachings may bear on parents' decisions. This volume seeks to fill this gap, providing information on religious teachings about the newborn to the multidisciplinary teams of NICU professionals (neonatologists, advance practice nurses, social workers), as well as to parents of NICU patients, and students of bioethics. In chapters dealing with Judaism, Catholicism, Denominational Protestantism, Evangelical Protestantism, African American Protestantism, Sunni and Shi'a Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Navajo religion, and Seventh Day Adventism, leading scholars develop the teachings of these traditions on the status, treatment, and ritual accompaniments of care of the premature or sick newborn. This is an essential book that will serve as a first resort for clinicians who need to understand the religious dynamics influencing anyone making a difficult decision about her sick newborn.
