Book Import Export of Apparel Textiles

Download or read book Import Export of Apparel Textiles written by Nasim Yousaf and published by Xlibris. This book was released on 2001 with total page 414 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is helpful for importers as well as exporters of apparel and textiles to the USA. Exporters from different countries will hopefully make use of the information I share in this book. The book targets importers, exporters, business executives, textile industry professionals, students, etc. Before I mention what this book is all about, let me remark on how the idea of writing first came about. I have been associated with international trade for over 20 years. Having lived in both Pakistan and the US, I have been able to obtain a vast knowledge on importing and exporting. I have also traveled extensively throughout the world, which has enabled me to gain a great deal of exposure, knowledge, and information on global trade. Over time, the idea of putting all my experiences together began to develop in my mind. I am not aware of any other book that serves as a complete guide for importers and exporters of apparel and textiles to the USA. In the book, I have tried to pass on my knowledge of business to both importers and exporters. The book discusses different steps one needs to take in setting up a business. It explains everything from the advantages of the export business and the production of apparel to making a practical entry into the US apparel and textile market. It also provides valuable information to entrepreneurs in the US and elsewhere, who might be interested in importing apparel and textiles from Pakistan. This information will save a tremendous amount of time for any importer or exporter, especially beginners. It is designed to give a head start to any entrepreneur. I have tried to keep this book error free to the best of my ability, but I apologize if any mistakes or inaccuracies are found or if there is a disagreement on an opinion. The book is divided into two parts. Part 1: Export to the USA This part provides a wealth of information for exporters around the world who want to sell their products to the US. It covers topics in depth, including methods of finding US buyers, market research, important trade shows, options of selling, web sites of designers and large US chain stores, garment production, apparel machinery, fashion and color forecasting information, and much more! Part 2: Import from Pakistan This part serves as a guide for importers on how to acquire apparel and textiles from Pakistan. It provides information on how to reach Pakistani manufacturers, exporters, and more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The World's Cottons: A Summary of Cotton Fiber and Processing Test Results This report contains extensive information and data on quality comparisons of cotton produced and exported by many foreign countries with cotton grown in the United States. Exporters and others in the us. Cotton industry have expressed a need for such information, recognizing that quality is an essential element in the marketing and manufacturing process. U.s. Cotton encounters strong competition from sharply increased production and exports abroad. Over 50 other countries of the world export cotton. These cottons have a wide range of quality characteristics because of differences in such factors as varieties, environmental conditions, and methods of cultivation, harvesting, and ginning. Therefore, quality comparisons in this publication can serve as an effective marketing tool for us. Exporters. It also provides useful guides to cotton producers, breeders, and others interested in evaluation of different growths, types, or varieties of cotton having characteristics within certain defined limits. This is the fourth, and by far the most comprehensive, of a series of quality comparison studies published by the Foreign Agricultural Service. Since the last report published in 1969, there have been changes in the relative importance of cotton from traditional and newer exporting countries, and in their varieties of cotton. An endeavor was made to obtain cotton samples for this study within a statistical framework that recognized volume changes among countries, as well as the importance, within each country of growth, varieties, region of origin, grade, and other pertinent factors. Fiber and processing tests used, along with the traditional grade and staple length determinations, provide the most objective approach available today in evaluating cotton quality. These quality determinations, all made under the same Set of standard conditions, are indicative of the contribution of several properties to overall spinning utility and market value of the cottons. Book excerpt: From aluminium and platinum to zinc and gold, oil and gas to cocoa and wheat, our lives are full of products derived or made from commodities - the world's natural resources. We often take them for granted - but at our peril, given the pivotal role these resources play in what we consume and produce. Price volatility, changing patterns of global demand and geopolitical instability regularly expose how unpredictable availability of and trade in commodities can be.
