Book Creating Level Pull

Download or read book Creating Level Pull written by Art Smalley and published by Lean Enterprise Institute. This book was released on 2004 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Creating Level Pull workbook shows you how to advance a lean transformation from a focus on isolated improvements to improving the entire plantwide production system by implementing a lean production control system. "The workbook is unique because it is a step-by-step case study on how to implement a level, pull-based production control system," said author Art Smalley. This is a new step towards 'system kaizen that is not yet well understood outside of Toyota. The lean efforts at most companies focus on "point kaizen" (e.g., reducing set up times, implementing 5S, etc.) that improves a small portion of the value stream running from raw materials to finished products. Or they focus on "flow kaizen" that improves the entire value stream for one product family. Creating Level Pull shows how companies can make the leap to "system kaizen" by introducing a lean production control system that ties together the flows of information and materials supporting every product family in a facility. With this system in place, each production activity requests precisely the materials it needs from the previous activity and demand from the customer is levelled to smooth production activities throughout the plant.[Source : 4e de couv.].

Book Vertical deformation Water level Microgravity Geodetic Water chemistry and Flow rate Data Collected During Injection Storage and Recovery Tests at Lancaster Antelope Valley California September 1995 Through September 1998

Download or read book Vertical deformation Water level Microgravity Geodetic Water chemistry and Flow rate Data Collected During Injection Storage and Recovery Tests at Lancaster Antelope Valley California September 1995 Through September 1998 written by Loren F. Metzger and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A series of freshwater injection, storage, and recovery tests were conducted from September 1995 through September 1998 to evaluate the feasibility of artificially recharging ground water in the Lancaster area of the Antelope Valley, California. The tests used two production wells at a well field located in the southern part of the city of Lancaster. Monitoring networks were established at or in the vicinity of the test site to measure vertical deformation of the aquifer system, water-level fluctuations, land-surface deformation, water chemistry, and injection well flow rates during water injection and recovery. Data presented in this report were collected from a dual extensometer; 10 piezometers; 1 barometer; 27 active or abandoned production wells; 31 gravity stations; 124 bench marks; 1 permanent and 1 temporary continuous Global Positioning System (GPS) station; 3 tiltmeters; and 2 electromagnetic flowmeters from September 1995 through September 1998. This report discusses the location and design of the monitoring networks and the methods used to collect and process the data, and presents the data in tables and graphs.

Download or read book Geodesy written by Wolfgang Torge and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2015-08-31 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a systematic overview of the fundamental theories, frameworks and methods for measurement and evaluation applying to geodesy, though the contribution of geodetic spatial techniques for positioning and for establishing the gravitational field receives particular emphasis. These methods have led to a change in the setting up of geodetic basic networks that is also of importance in practical terms; for interdisciplinary geodynamics research geodesy can likewise make major contributions with their assistance. The current status of geodesy is illustrated by numerous examples from survey, evaluation and analysis; an extensive literature list makes further study all the easier. The book conveys an extensive overview of the profound changes that geodesy has undergone in the past twenty years.
