Franck Laloë was a researcher at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. His first assignment was with the University of Paris VI before he was appointed to the CNRS, the French National Research Center. His research was focused on optical pumping, statistical mechanics of quantum gases, musical acoustics and the foundations of quantum mechanics.

Donc, nous nous somme interesse a modeliser la machine lineaire par la MEF en tenant compte du mouvement du secondaire, des effets longitudinal et transversal et des phenomenes magnetiques non lineaires. En vue d'etablir le modele de la machine adoptee, une analyse par elements finis 2D et 3D avec materiaux non lineaires est faite afin de determiner les performances de cette machine. Pour utiliser la machine lineaire a induction dans des entrainements a vitesse variable, nous avons developpe des strategies de commande pour le pilotage de ce type de machine. Ces developpements ont debute par la determination, moyennant la MEF 3D, d'un facteur caracterisant les effets d'extremites et de bords."
