Book m KdV Solitons on the Background of Quasi Periodic Finite Gap Solutions

Download or read book m KdV Solitons on the Background of Quasi Periodic Finite Gap Solutions written by Fritz Gesztesy and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1995 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the introductory section, we review the formulation of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation and of the modified KdV (mKdV) equation as a compatibility condition for a Lax pair of linear operators. We then illustrate Miura's transformation, which maps solutions of the mKdV into solutions of the KdV. We then give a general overview of the concept of soliton solutions relative to general backgrounds, and of the single and double commutation methods. Finally, we present the main results of the article. To avoid the clutter of too many technical details, the paper is organized in four sections and five appendices.

Book Diagonalizing Quadratic Bosonic Operators by Non Autonomous Flow Equations

Download or read book Diagonalizing Quadratic Bosonic Operators by Non Autonomous Flow Equations written by Volker Bach and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2016-03-10 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors study a non-autonomous, non-linear evolution equation on the space of operators on a complex Hilbert space. They specify assumptions that ensure the global existence of its solutions and allow them to derive its asymptotics at temporal infinity. They demonstrate that these assumptions are optimal in a suitable sense and more general than those used before. The evolution equation derives from the Brocket-Wegner flow that was proposed to diagonalize matrices and operators by a strongly continuous unitary flow. In fact, the solution of the non-linear flow equation leads to a diagonalization of Hamiltonian operators in boson quantum field theory which are quadratic in the field.

Book Direct and Inverse Scattering at Fixed Energy for Massless Charged Dirac Fields by Kerr Newman de Sitter Black Holes

Download or read book Direct and Inverse Scattering at Fixed Energy for Massless Charged Dirac Fields by Kerr Newman de Sitter Black Holes written by Thierry Daudé and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2017-04-25 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper, the authors study the direct and inverse scattering theory at fixed energy for massless charged Dirac fields evolving in the exterior region of a Kerr-Newman-de Sitter black hole. In the first part, they establish the existence and asymptotic completeness of time-dependent wave operators associated to our Dirac fields. This leads to the definition of the time-dependent scattering operator that encodes the far-field behavior (with respect to a stationary observer) in the asymptotic regions of the black hole: the event and cosmological horizons. The authors also use the miraculous property (quoting Chandrasekhar)—that the Dirac equation can be separated into radial and angular ordinary differential equations—to make the link between the time-dependent scattering operator and its stationary counterpart. This leads to a nice expression of the scattering matrix at fixed energy in terms of stationary solutions of the system of separated equations. In a second part, the authors use this expression of the scattering matrix to study the uniqueness property in the associated inverse scattering problem at fixed energy. Using essentially the particular form of the angular equation (that can be solved explicitly by Frobenius method) and the Complex Angular Momentum technique on the radial equation, the authors are finally able to determine uniquely the metric of the black hole from the knowledge of the scattering matrix at a fixed energy.

Book Equivalence of Measure Preserving Transformations

Download or read book Equivalence of Measure Preserving Transformations written by Donald Ornstein and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1982 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These notes give an exposition of a theory of Kakutani-equivalence that runs parallel to the theory of isomorphism between Bernoulli processes with the same entropy. A reinterpretation of the results yields a theory of isomorphisms between reparametrized flows, and of the relations between flows and their cross section maps. A brief survey is given of the more recent results in the theory.

Book Classification of Actions of Discrete Kac Algebras on Injective Factors

Download or read book Classification of Actions of Discrete Kac Algebras on Injective Factors written by Toshihiko Masuda and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2017-01-18 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors study two kinds of actions of a discrete amenable Kac algebra. The first one is an action whose modular part is normal. They construct a new invariant which generalizes a characteristic invariant for a discrete group action, and we will present a complete classification. The second is a centrally free action. By constructing a Rohlin tower in an asymptotic centralizer, the authors show that the Connes–Takesaki module is a complete invariant.

Book Actions of Linearly Reductive Groups on Affine PI Algebras

Download or read book Actions of Linearly Reductive Groups on Affine PI Algebras written by Nikolaus Vonessen and published by American Mathematical Soc..
