La regulación de las diferentes instituciones protegidas por la propiedad industrial está totalmente puesta al día, con el estudio de las últimas modificaciones de la Ley de Patentes y Modelos de Utilidad de 1986, la Ley de Marcas de 7 de diciembre de 2001 y la Ley de Protección Jurídica del Diseño Industrial, de 7 de julio de 2003, con un examen del diseño industrial nacional que carecía de regulación específica. Todo ello con las necesarias referencias a la Ley de 5 de junio de 2006 que, por imperativo comunitario, amplía los medios de tutela de los derechos de propiedad intelectual e industrial. Se incluyen las dos nuevas modalidades comunitarias: la marca comunitaria, creada por el Reglamento sobre Marca Comunitaria, de 20 de diciembre de 1993, y los dibujos y modelos comunitarios, regulados en el Reglamento sobre los Dibujos y Modelos Comunitarios de 12 de diciembre de 2001. Por su amplitud y aportación doctrinal es una obra de obligada lectura para todo estudioso de las creaciones intelectuales, cualquiera que sea su nacionalidad ya que proporciona un profundo examen de los conceptos y doctrinas sobre estas creaciones y, además, por la actualización que contiene del derecho positivo, es de gran utilidad para los Abogados especializados en propiedad industrial y derecho de autor y para los Agentes de la Propiedad Industrial.
