Book Contracting International Employee Participation

Download or read book Contracting International Employee Participation written by Felix Hadwiger and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-01-25 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last two decades, multinational companies (MNCs) and global union federations (GUFs) have started to negotiate so-called global framework agreements (GFAs) which define minimum standards for labor conditions across their locations. This book focuses on the question why companies conclude GFAs, and identifies four groups of incentives: reduction and privatization of conflicts; public relations; promotion of equal competitive conditions; exogenous requirements and avoidance of public regulation. Based on an in-depth analysis of incentives considered to play a dominant role in the decision of companies to conclude GFAs, the book attempts to predict under which conditions GFAs can be expected to proliferate in the future.

Book International Employee Equity Plans

Download or read book International Employee Equity Plans written by Mary K. Samsa and published by Kluwer Law International B.V.. This book was released on 2003-01-01 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: World Law Group Series Volume 4 Although the economic downturns of 2001 and 2002 have threatened to dampen enthusiasm for employee equity participation in business enterprises, such plans continue to be offered by employers in nearly all major national jurisdictions. The time is ripe, in fact, to clarify and elucidate the legal complexities of extending such plans across borders to employees working in other countries. This is the first book to provide in-depth, country-by-country coverage of the national law issues that must be considered by an employer implementing (or considering the implementation of) a multinational employee equity plan. For each of thirty countries, International Employee Equity Plans presents a detailed survey of applicable law, trends, and customs affecting employee participation. Each chapter is written by practicing employment lawyers in that particular jurisdiction, ensuring that the critical issues, potential pitfalls, and likely changes are incisively dealt with. Among the matters described and analysed for each country are the following: the most advantageous (and disadvantageous) types of plans; relevant securities offering rules; all legal compliance steps; available exemptions and reliefs and the conditions upon which they are offered; the fine line between and¿informingand¿ and and¿advisingand¿; taxation of employee benefits and other tax rules; and the extent to which local courts will recognize foreign law in all pertinent matters. The wealth of guidance and information in this book will help many more organisations to follow the lead of those companies that have already achieved remarkable success in this important area of international business. Legal practitioners, in-house counsel, human resources executives and others involved in implementing employee equity plans have here a detailed and user-friendly handbook covering the most important jurisdictions. The World Law Group is a network of independent law firms located in most of the world's major commercial cities. Each World Law Group memebr firm has been selected for its excellent business reputation, its dept of commitment to international practice and its ability to assist other member firms in their national dealings. Book Changing Labour Policies and Organization of Work in China

Download or read book Changing Labour Policies and Organization of Work in China written by Ying Zhu and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-12-29 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The transformation of China’s economy from a centrally planned to a market-oriented system has had a profound impact on management systems and practices at the firm level, particularly changes to the organization of work. One of the consequences of this is increasing social disparity reflected through inequality of employees’ income and employment conditions. This book, based on extensive original research including interviews and questionnaire surveys in different regions of China, explores the exact nature of these changes and their effects. It examines state-owned enterprises, foreign-owned enterprises and domestic private enterprises, discusses the extent to which employees are satisfied with their employment conditions and whether they think their employment conditions are fair and outlines how managers and employees in China expect conditions to change in future.

Download or read book Business Law in Europe written by Association Europpeene D'etudes Juridiques et Fisc and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended to serve as a guide to businessmen and their advisers, either from outside the Common Market or from within, who seek basic information on questions in three main fields: company law and related legal matters, taxation, and labour law. For those who wish to establish an enter prise or form a holding or financing company in one of the Member States of the Common Market (including Greece, of course) or Switzerland this guide offers a unique opportunity to compare conditions in the various countries in the three fields. This is facilitated by the strict adherence to one format for each national chapter. Those who are already present in one or more of the eleven countries will find a global answer to a number of practical questions that may arise. For detailed answers the local lawyer or other consultant remains indispensable. The format is based on two different approaches the foreign investor may take: either he 'goes it alone', by way of establishing a branch, setting up a subsidiary or taking over an existing company, or he joins forces with another investor from within the host country or from outside. In the latter event there are a number of legal forms (jointly owned company, partnership, etc. ) which may be used.

Book Global Outsourcing Strategies

Download or read book Global Outsourcing Strategies written by Roxane Gervais and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2017-03-02 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most significant techniques to which companies and organizations have turned to improve service delivery and reduce costs has been outsourcing. Over the last 10 years, almost any process has been successfully outsourced. But during that period there have been failures too; projects that never realised their objectives or that had unforeseen impact on business. Global Outsourcing Strategies is a state-of-the-art guide to the best lessons to be learned for successfully implementing and outsourcing projects, or for revisiting existing operations. The 22 chapters explore some of the new areas for outsourcing, after traditional targets such as IT and finance. Information is provided on the different facets of the outsourcing process, such as contract negotiation, the risks involved in outsourcing, the need for service level agreements, the critical requirements needed to build and sustain outsourcing relationships, and ethical supply chain issues. There are also sections exploring the impact of outsourcing on organizational structures; the long term effects; legal issues; management control and inter-firm relationships; as well as case studies from both the public and private sector on the practical side of outsourcing. The book will appeal to practitioners and researchers alike. This is a must-have guide for any organization approaching outsourcing as a global (or local) strategy and for those organizations now reviewing or developing their outsourcing partnerships.
