He discovers that over the course of his life he has, unbeknownst to himself, been carefully groomed to become the Antichrist, as foretold in ancient prophecy. All he need now do is assume the role prepared for him by taking hold of the reins of global power. Book excerpt: The doctrine of the Antichrist is one of the most interesting doctrines found in Scripture, says author Kim Riddlebarger. Unfortunately, it's also one which has been subject to far more speculation than sound biblical exegesis. Until now. Unlike other resources available on the Antichrist, The Man of Sin focuses on Scripture, not contemporary events, to uncover the truth about this mysterious entity. With skilled exegesis Riddlebarger asserts that, contrary to popular speculation, the Antichrist is not a singular individual but a series of beings that will arise to challenge Christ throughout the inter-advental age before culminating in an end-times Antichrist. Backing this claim first in Scripture, Riddlebarger also draws from historical teachings including those of the church fathers, the Reformation, and historic Protestantism, before contrasting this evidence to the sensational interpretations of many contemporary writers. Pastors, teachers, and study groups wanting to understand the doctrine of the Antichrist will find The Man of Sin to be a unique and comprehensive study.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What will be the name of the Antichrist? How about David. The Omnavarian Codex offer the reader a dynamic and intriguing tale of love, hate, war, charity, sacrifice, and most of all the power of family united. All presented from the prospective of the primordial being who is to become the Antichrist, but you can call him David. David is the "Preserver of the Universe" a being that was created to ensure the continuation of the universe as such in the days of the end he is to oppose the one who would destroy the world, in that time he will earn the title "The Antichrist". Until then he's an integral part of the keeping the world turning and his goals are right on par with God's. Now doesn't that confuse things a bit. We were always taught that the Antichrist would be a being of pure evil, killing, maiming, torturing, but that is an extremely narrow interpretation and not how one gets to rule the world in today's world. The lies of the Antichrist will be more subtle. "Anti" from the Greek root can mean either "opposed to" or "In replace of" in this book we explore the latter meaning. David as the Antichrist will endear you, encapsulate you, and even make you root for him at times. As he wonders throughout ancient history as man and beast fighting angels, making gods, establishing empires, and making a love that can withstand the full force of heaven's wrath. This book offers the reader a secret knowledge and it delivers, so be careful how you use it.

Book Confessions of an Antichrist

Download or read book Confessions of an Antichrist written by Marta Skaði and published by Watkins Media Limited. This book was released on 2024-03-12 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A delightfully twisted crime novel with an unreliable narrator, Confessions of an Antichrist tells the tale of the rise and fall of a Norwegian band of wannabe-Satanists embarking on a mission to burn the world down with black metal. Marta Skaði is on a mission to destroy the world. Rebelling against the perfect, picturesque Norwegian fishing town she was born in, she has formed a black metal band of such disturbing depravity she knows they’re the perfect weapon to corrupt the masses. When a record deal is dangled before the band after a particularly offensive gig, Marta has to hold the young, wannabe Satanists in her midst together as they reach for their destiny. Not easy when they consist of her ox-brained best friend drummer, a Viking-obsessed bass guitarist, a sex-addicted lead guitarist, and a barely human singer who could well be the Antichrist. Yet as the record deal seems within reach, everything falls apart. And so begins the spiralling descent into madness of Marta and her strange, sordid group as they corrupt Christians on crosses and battle fascists with dildos, while coming to realise that one of them may be more evil than they realised… Set in the grungy heavy metal scene of 2010’s Norway, Marta chronicles her descent into chaos and murder, fuelled by thinly veiled lust described as love. From burning down churches to satanic orgies, Confessions of an Antichrist is a fast paced and hair raising story, detailing the gruesome fulfilment of teenage dreams and nightmares.

Book Waiting for Antichrist

Download or read book Waiting for Antichrist written by Damian Thompson and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2005-04-21 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can people believe that the supernatural end of the world lies just around the corner when, so far, every such prediction has been proved wrong? Some scholars argue that millenarians are psychologically disturbed; others maintain that their dreams of paradise on earth reflect a nascent political awareness. In this book Damian Thompson looks at the members of one religious group with a strong apocalyptic tradition--Kensington Temple, a large Pentecostal church in London--and attempts to understand how they reconcile doctrines of the end of the world with the demands of their everyday lives. He asks such questions as: Who is making the argument that the world is about to end, and on whose authority? How is it communicated? Which members are persuaded by it? What are the practical consequences for them? How do they rationalize their position? Based on extensive interviews as well as a survey of almost 3000 members, Thompson finds existing explanations of apocalyptic belief inadequate. Although they profess allegiance to millennial doctrine, he discovers, members actually assign a low priority to the "End Times." The history of millenarianism is littered with disappointment, Thompson notes, and the lesson has largely been learned: "predictive" millenarianism--with its risky time-specific predictions of the end--has been substantially supplanted by "explanatory" millenarianism, which uses apocalyptic narratives to explain features of the contemporary world. Most apocalyptic believers, he finds, are comfortable with these lower-cost explanatory narratives that do not require them to sell their houses and head for the hills. He does uncover a handful of "textbook" millenarians in the congregation--people who are confident that Jesus will return in their lifetimes. He concludes that their atypical beliefs were influenced by their conversion experiences, individual psychology, and degree of subcultural immersion. Although much has been written about apocalyptic belief, Thompson's empirically-based study is unprecedented. It constitutes an important step forward in our understanding of this puzzling feature of contemporary religious life.

Book The Antichrist

Book excerpt: Long out of print in English, this dizzying hybrid of novel, essay, and polemic has less to do with religion than with what Roth sees as the disintegrating moral fabric of the modern world Written while Roth was in exile from Germany and his native Austria following the rise of Nazism, this work was composed in cafés across free Europe after all his works in German went up in flames. Such events no doubt influence the apocalytic tones of The Antichrist's protaganist, J.R., a journalist hired by an inscrutable media mogul hellbent on exposing evidence of the "Antichrist" throughout the world. This mission leads J.R. to authoritarian political regimes such as Red Earth (the Soviet Union) but also other poisonous terrains like The Land of Shadows (Hollywood)—it becomes all too clear that it is Roth's mission to chart the whole of civilization's slide into moral and political chaos. But herein lies the extraordinary strength and appeal of this work, as Roth is powerfully and even hilariously prescient. Mixing the diatribe with his trademark sardonic wit, he miraculously predicts the advent of the Holocaust, globalization, multimedia—even the paparazzi. Combining beautiful but savage writing with visual imagery out of a Coen Brothers movie, this is an invaluable addition to the Roth canon in English.

Download or read book The Antichrist written by Baal Kadmon and published by . This book was released on 2020-05-10 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Antichrist is one of the most feared, and one of the most anticipated figures in the Abrahamic religions. From Judaism, to Christianity and Islam, there is a figure that is expected to fulfill the role of the Antichrist. Although the word "Christ" is in the word, it means not only a person against Jesus Christ. Christ in Greek simply means "the anointed one." This is a figure against God, be it in the Jewish, Christian or Islamic understanding of the word. For ease of use, I will use the term Antichrist when speaking of all the Abrahamic religions. The Antichrist is a person who will be the antithesis to all that is godly. He will be, in many ways, a Messianic figure with ill intent; hoping to lead billions of people astray. He will have immense powers at his disposal. In fact, the hordes of hell will be at his right side, waiting to be unleashed upon humanity. At least, that is what the religions want you to believe. In this book, I will go as deep as I possibly can into the idea of the Antichrist and from as many vantage points as possible. In that sense, this will be highly academic, but I will make it very accessible. Here is just a taste of what to you will learn in this book: The Origin of the Word AntichristThe Idea of the AntichristThe Different Types of Antichrist FiguresThe Nature and Intention of the AntichristThe Various Names of the AntichristJewish Ideas as it Pertains to the AntichristChristian Beliefs as it Relates to the AntichristThe Whore of Babylon and the Antichrist The Antichrist in Apocryphal TextsThe Antichrist in the Dead Sea ScrollsThe Antichrist as the Early Church Understood HimThe Antichrist Figure in IslamNostradamus and Antichrist PredictionsPeople in Ancient and Modern Times who Were and Are Considered the AntichristAnd more.As you can see, it will be exhaustive. I hope you enjoy it.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Amillennialism, dispensational premillennialism, historic premillennialism, postmillennialism, preterism. These are difficult words to pronounce and even harder concepts to understand. A Case for Amillennialism is an accessible look at the crucial theological question of the millennium in the context of contemporary evangelicalism. Recognizing that eschatology--the study of future things--is a complicated and controversial subject, Kim Riddlebarger provides definitions of key terms and a helpful overview of various viewpoints. He examines related biblical topics as a backdrop to understanding the subject and discusses important passages of Scripture that bear upon the millennial question. Regardless of their stance, readers will find helpful insight as Riddlebarger evaluates the main problems facing each of the major millennial positions and cautions readers to be aware of the spiraling consequences of each view.
