Book excerpt: Among the activities of the UDC was the awarding of medals to veterans of various wars. In the folder are blank application forms. In the collection are the minutes from a convention that included the United Confederate Veterans, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the confederated Southern Memorial Association held in 1937 in Jackson, Miss. There is also one set of minutes from the New York Division of the UDC, also held in 1937. A miscellaneous folder contains a photograph of Stonewall Jackson, an ad for Dick Dowling's Battle by Mrs. R. F. Pray, an ad for Confederate Leaders by Sallie Dickinson, a set of postcards from Mount Vernon, literary notes from the Cokesbury Press in Nashville, a 40th anniversary program for the UDC in 1934, a brochure about Sam Davis' home in Nashville, a drawing of a southern bell presenting a Confederate soldier with a flag, an index to a song of Southern songs, and a list of states with the dates of their entry into the U.S.
