Book Concepts Evaluation Model V CEM V Part III User s Handbook

Download or read book Concepts Evaluation Model V CEM V Part III User s Handbook written by Philip E. Louer and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Concepts Evaluation Model (CEM) is a full automated, deterministic combat simulation that can simulate months of theater land and air combat in a few hours on a computer. A unique feature of the CEM is the simulation and automation of the commanders' decision processes and utilization of resources at all echelons from division through theater. Results of combat are sensitive to the mix of major weapons within the combat forces, and the pace of combat depends on the expenditure and attrition of resources along with the associated resupply. This document provides a complete description of the input data and their formats required for the CEM V, as well as a description of the reports generated by the CEM V and its postprocessor. The structure of the CEM V input data deck is indicated, and an explanation of the error diagnostic messages produced by the CEM V preprocessor is included. References are provided to Parts I and II of the CEM V documentation, where more complete explanations are given of how the input data are used by the CEM V and how they should be derived. (Author).

Book Concepts Evaluation Model V Input Data System

Download or read book Concepts Evaluation Model V Input Data System written by John D. Hightower and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A systems analysis was performed on the Threat Force File development process used in conjunction with the Concepts Evaluation Model (CEM V) at the United States Army Concepts Analysis Agency. Additionally, logical subject databases were designed to facilitate the retrieval of specific information from the output generated by the CEM V.A systematic approach provided the focus for resolution of each activity. The resulting systems analysis documents the activities and processes that the agency's four major study teams go through in preparing the Threat Force File for input to the CEM V. Areas were identified for application of data management techniques to improve system efficiency. The database designs resulted from the application of techniques selected from existing design methodologies. The logical schemas were transformed into network structures consistent with the database management system (DMS-1100) used by USACAA.

Book Systems Analysis and Modeling in Defense

Download or read book Systems Analysis and Modeling in Defense written by R. Huber and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 886 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the proceedings of an interna tional symposium devoted to Modeling and Analysis of Defense Processes in the context of land/air warfare. It was sponsored by Panel VII (on Defense Applications of Operational Research) of NATO's Defense Research Group (DRG) and took place 27-29 July 1982 at NATO headquarters in Brussels. Except perhaps for the Theater-Level Gaming and Analysis Workshop, sponsored by the Office of united 1 states Naval Research in 1977 , this symposium was the first international scientific meeting on Operations Research/Systems Analysis in the area of land/air war fare since the conference on Modeling Land Battle Systems 2 for Military Planning sponsored by NATO's Special Pro gramme Panel on Systems Science in 1974. That conference dealt primarily with modeling small unit (company, bat talion) engagements and, to a lesser extent, large unit (corps, theater) campaigns with principal emphasis on attrition processes and movement in combat. It was considered as rather successful in that it revealed the state-of-the art around 1972 and identified problem areas and promising approaches for future developments. lWith regard to foreign attendance, this wo- shop was largely limited to participants from the United Kingdom and the Federal Republic of Germany (see L.J. Low: Theater-Level Gaming and Analysis Workshop for Force Planning, Vol II-Summary, Discus sion of Issues and Requirements for Research, SRI Report, May, 1981).

Book Conceptual Design for an Army Logistics Assessment extended ALA X Methodology

Download or read book Conceptual Design for an Army Logistics Assessment extended ALA X Methodology written by J. H. Bigelow and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Note describes a conceptual design for Army Logistics Assessment--Extended (ALA-X), a methodology for assessing the readiness and sustainability of the U.S. Army. The methodology is intended for use in the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting process, so that those parts of the Army program dealing with logistics functions and resources can be better prepared and justified. The ALA-X methodology will relate resources among 38 categories of logistics resources to specific measures of combat capability and will treat them simultaneously so that tradeoffs and substitutions can be performed.
