Book E learning for architecture

Download or read book E learning for architecture written by Stefano Panunzi and published by Gangemi Editore spa. This book was released on 2012-01-13T00:00:00+01:00 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our research, even despite its apparent fragmentary appearance, firmly believes in the idea that information science tools and the On-Line System should be utilized in innumerable ways in the various independent stages of an architect's learning itinerary, but that they can never totally replace the maieutic aspect of master-pupil relations, even if the masters, due to the extraordinary capacities of computer science, can be themselves multiplied, since, even though distant in space, they can be visibly and audibly next to us in a shared environment, even interacting with our own designs. We ourselves are spectators with other students gathered from all over the world to share together the most precious and unique moments in our and their educational growth. Research into the most effective way of realising this 'Augmented Reality' as the Americans call it, is our most ambitious objective, along with a parallel investigation into all the other possible stages of teaching in which information science technologies can be used as a normal and potent tool for the training of an architect. [Lucio Valerio Barbera] Contributions: Gustavo Ambrosini, Roberta Ansuini, Lucio Valerio Barbera, Liliana Bazzanella, Rosalba Belibani,Michele Bonino, Luca Caneparo, Pierre-Alain Croset,Mario De Grassi, Anna Irene Del Monaco, Luca Fabbri, Alberto Giretti, Gianluigi Mondaini, Stefano Panunzi, Mario Petrone.

Book Communication and Technology

Download or read book Communication and Technology written by Lorenzo Cantoni and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2015-08-31 with total page 588 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary goal of the Communication and Technology volume (5th within the series "Handbooks of Communication Science") is to provide the reader with a comprehensive compilation of key scholarly literature, identifying theoretical issues, emerging concepts, current research, specialized methods, and directions for future investigations. The internet and web have become the backbone of many new communication technologies, often transforming older communication media, through digitization, to make them compatible with the net. Accordingly, this volume focuses on internet/web technologies. The essays cover various infrastructure technologies, ranging from different kinds of hard-wired elements to a range of wireless technologies such as WiFi, mobile telephony, and satellite technologies. Audio/visual communication is discussed with reference to large-format motion pictures, medium-sized television and video formats, and the small-screen mobile smartphone. There is also coverage of audio-only media, such as radio, music, and voice telephony; text media, in such venues as online newspapers, blogs, discussion forums and mobile texting; and multi-media technologies, such as games and virtual reality.

Book Media Education in Action

Download or read book Media Education in Action written by Alberto Parola and published by Firenze University Press. This book was released on 2010 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Media Education (ME) has come a long way. Today, it can no longer be considered a field of study reserved for semiotic and communication researchers. Nor can it be regarded as a privileged practice of those teachers, who for some reason consider media of fundamental importance. On one hand, ME is now part of the agenda of international organizations, which consider the development of media competences a necessary requisite to fully exercise citizenship in the current contemporary society. On the other, ME practices are becoming increasingly widespread in schools involving a growing number of teachers. Notwithstanding, teaching the media still seems to be a rather solipsistic task where «everything is fine». Indeed, in ME there is a tremendous lack of research concerning the educational practices' quality and effectiveness. This book tries to cope with these issues by providing a set of instruments to design, develop and evaluate ME activities in schools, and supporting the enhancement of media educators' knowledge and skills.
