Book Computer Aided Inspection Planning

Download or read book Computer Aided Inspection Planning written by Abdulrahman Al-Ahmari and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-12-19 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspection process is one of the most important steps in manufacturing industries because it safeguards high quality products and customer satisfaction. Manual inspection may not provide the desired accuracy. This book introduces and implements a new methodology and develops the supporting technologies for automated inspection planning based on Computer Aided Design (CAD) models. It also provides and implements an efficient link for automated operation based on Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). The link’s output is a DMIS code programming file based on the inspection planning table that is executed on CMM.

Book An Intelligent Inspection Planning System for Prismatic Parts on CMMs

Download or read book An Intelligent Inspection Planning System for Prismatic Parts on CMMs written by Slavenko M. Stojadinović and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-02-09 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines an intelligent system for the inspection planning of prismatic parts on coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). The content focuses on four main elements: the engineering ontology, the model of inspection planning for prismatic parts on CMMs, the optimisation model of the measuring path based on an ant-colony approach, and the model of probe configuration and setup planning based on a genetic algorithm. The model of inspection planning for CMMs developed here addresses inspection feature construction, the sampling strategy, probe accessibility analysis, automated collision-free operation, and probe path planning. The proposed model offers a novel approach to intelligent inspection, while also minimizing human involvement (and thus the risk of human error) through intelligent planning of the probe configuration and part setup. The advantages of this approach include: reduced preparation times due to the automatic generation of a measuring protocol; potential optimisation of the measuring probe path, i.e., less time needed for the actual measurement; and increased planning process autonomy through minimal human involvement in the setup analysis and probe configuration.

Book Computer Aided Cmm Inspection Planning and Verification

Download or read book Computer Aided Cmm Inspection Planning and Verification written by Anis Limaiem and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2011-10 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inspection planning and verification procedures are central activities in any inspection using Coordinates Measuring Machines (CMMs). The objective of tactile CMM inspection planning is to establish the best sequence of inspection steps with a detailed inspection procedure for each inspection feature or cluster of measurement points. Algorithms are then used to interpolate these points and generate their mathematical model(s). Complex surfaces may need to be decomposed into several patches which are interpolated separately then joined in a single model by determining their intersections. These models (curves and surfaces) are then used by tolerance analysis algorithms to verify if tolerance specifications are met by comparing the interpolated model representing the actual surface and the CAD model representing the theoretical surface.

Book Visual Surface Inspection Planning for Industrial Applications

Download or read book Visual Surface Inspection Planning for Industrial Applications written by Petra Gospodnetic and published by Fraunhofer Verlag. This book was released on 2022-01-17 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Visual product quality assurance is a crucial part of every production process. It is time we start talking about what does that mean in the context of Industry 4.0. As production lines move forward towards more control, automation and customization; quality inspection systems capable of following the advancements become an apparent issue. How can a highly customizable product be efficiently and consistently inspected? Only way to offer a solution to the above question in a manner which can follow the automation requirements is to put efforts into inspection planning virtualization and development of tools which can make the process easier. We introduce visual inspection planning standards, planning pipeline and tool enabling its use by an inspection expert. It enables both automatic as well as manual interactive inspection planning, allowing the user to digitally produce a complete acquisition setup, together with evaluation of the covered surface and photorealistic image simulation based on the defined setup. Our work allows inspection planning to make a transition from research into industry by making it widely available and easy to comprehend.

Book Principles and Practices of CAD CAM

Download or read book Principles and Practices of CAD CAM written by Vikram Sharma and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-12-18 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CAD/CAM systems are perhaps the most crucial advancement in the field of new technology relating to engineering, design and drawing in all technical domains. CAD/CAM stands for computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. These systems are useful in all facets of contemporary design and architecture. The fundamentals of CAD/CAM systems are covered in detail throughout this book. This book aims to introduce the fundamental aspects, complete with an adequate numberof illustrations and examples, without delving too deeply into the specifics of the subject matter. This book is valuable in the classroom for both teachers and students. Features Each chapter begins with the Learning Outcomes (LOs) section, which highlights the critical points of that chapter. All LOs, solved examples, and questions are mapped to six Bloom Taxonomy levels (BT levels). Offers fundamental concepts of CAD/CAM without becoming too complicated. Solved examples are presented in each section after the theoretical discussion to clarify the concept of that section. Chapter-end summaries reinforce key ideas and help readers recall the concepts discussed. Students and professionals need to have a working knowledge of CAD/CAM since it has many applications and continues to expand. Students at the undergraduate and graduate levels of engineering courses use this book as their primary textbook. It will also be helpful for managers, consultants, and professionals.
