This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book D veloppement morphosyntaxique complexe

Download or read book D veloppement morphosyntaxique complexe written by Gaïd Prigent and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Compr hension orale morphosyntaxique et code pictographique written by Florence Jullien Vachot and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book East Benue Congo

Download or read book East Benue Congo written by John R. Watters and published by Language Science Press. This book was released on 2018 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is the first in what hopefully will be a growing set of edited volumes and monographs concerning Niger-Congo comparative studies. This first volume addresses matters that are relevant to the entire East Benue-Congo family as well as the particular branches Kainji, Plateau, and Bantoid. In the case of Bantoid, the particular focus is on Grassfields and the Grassfields-Bantu borderland, though other Bantoid subgroups are referenced. The potential topics for comparative studies among these languages are numerous, but this volume is dedicated to presentations on nominal affixes, third person pronouns, and verbal extensions. A forthcoming volume will provide some results of reconstructions and lexicostatistics in Cross River, exploratory reconstructions in Southern Jukunoid, and reconstructions in Ekoid-Mbe and Mambiloid.

Book Phonology for Communication Disorders

Download or read book Phonology for Communication Disorders written by Martin J. Ball and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2014-02-25 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook describes the approaches to phonology that are most relevant to communication disorders. It examines schools of thought in theoretical phonology, and their relevance to description, explanation and remediation in the clinical context. A recurring theme throughout the book is the distinction between phonological theories that attempt elegant, parsimonious descriptions of phonological data, and those that attempt to provide a psycholinguistic model of speech production and perception. This book introduces all the relevant areas of phonology to the students and practitioners of speech-language pathology and is a companion volume to the authors’ Phonetics for Communication Disorders.

Until now this question has been examined mainly by psychoanalysts, from their own perspective, but here it is investigated by a linguist, who systematically explores two domains. The first is related to the sign and symbol, where the meeting of Freud, Saussure and Hjelmselv occurred; whereas in the second, that of the signifier, Saussure reappears escorted by Lacan. But Freud is not far away, since the.

Book The Numeral System of Proto Niger Congo

Download or read book The Numeral System of Proto Niger Congo written by Konstantin Pozdniakov and published by Saint Philip Street Press. This book was released on 2020-10-09 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book proposes the reconstruction of the Proto-Niger-Congo numeral system. The emphasis is placed on providing an exhaustive account of the distribution of forms by families, groups, and branches. The big data bases used for this purpose open prospects for both working with the distribution of words that do exist and with the distribution of gaps in postulated cognates. The distribution of filled cells and gaps is a useful tool for reconstruction. This work was published by Saint Philip Street Press pursuant to a Creative Commons license permitting commercial use. The twelve chapters are written by a team of fifteen eminent Africanists, and their topics include the four major language groupings (Niger-Congo, Nilo-Saharan, Afroasiatic and Khoisan), the core areas of modern theoretical linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax), typology, sociolinguistics, comparative linguistics, and language, history and society. Basic concepts and terminology are explained for undergraduates and non-specialist readers, but each chapter also provides an overview of the state of the art in its field, and as such will be referred to also by more advanced students and general linguists. The book brings this range of material together in accessible form for anyone wishing to learn more about this challenging and fascinating field.

Book Negotiating with a Sovereign Quebec

Download or read book Negotiating with a Sovereign Quebec written by Daniel Drache and published by James Lorimer & Company. This book was released on 1992 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Published in 1992, this book explores the process, problems, and issues related to Quebec's possible accession to sovereign status. The essays in this collection start from the premise that the process of constitutional renewal in Canada had, by 1992, reached an impasse. Since the federal government was unable to make proposals for an asymmetrical federalism acceptable to Quebec, Quebec sovereignty seemed an increasingly likely possibility. The contributors explore the minutiae of the process required to make sovereignty a reality. Written at a time of extreme constitutional stress, the essays in Negotiating with a Sovereign Quebec offer clear-eyed assessments of the possibility of the failure of Canadian federalism.

Book Conflict and Compromise in Multilingual Societies

Download or read book Conflict and Compromise in Multilingual Societies written by Kenneth McRae and published by Wilfrid Laurier Univ. Press. This book was released on 1998-04-29 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After the French Revolution, Switzerland developed from a country in which German dominated linguistically into a confederation of four officially recognized language groups -- German, French, Italian, Romansh -- concentrated in different geographical areas and marked by distinctive cultures and lifestyles. Following a historical overview of this development and the social and political institutionalization of the linguistic cleavages, McRae's study examines key elements in the functioning of modern Swiss society: political parties, federal and cantonal institutions, the media, educational and cultural policies, the relation between the linguistic cleavages and class and religion, the attitudes and behaviour of the four language groups to one another. It concludes by reviewing the various explanations advanced to explain the relative social and political stability of Switzerland. This book is the first volume in a projected multi-volume work examining four multilingual Western democracies. The volumes to come will focus on Belgium (scheduled for publication in 1985), Finland, and Canada.
